Now that I am me again, and not feigning some raving lunatic, I will seriously ask this question: ST an F? Yes, Folk's kicking game was an F. But the punting was sensational, and Marshall was very solid in the return game.

Special teams are all-inclusive, not just placekicking.

Yea your rite
But m still pissed

AFC East season record prediction:

Pats: 11-5/10-6
Bills: 7-9/8-8 (probably less)
Dolphins: 7-9/8-8 (probably less)
Jets: 7-9/8-8 (probably less)

Yes Jets faithful, I'm going off one damn game. Our secondary sucks an our QB is worse. Fitz finally comes back to earth to who he really is. Before the season started, I was a fool also and thought the Jets could win 10 games again this year but I'm glad I know better now. We'll be lucky if we win 1 game in the this 6 game string of horror stretch. It's going to be a LONG YEAR Jets faithful ad being that this is the case, I ask you couldn't we have done this with Petty playing? Or better yet, Dak Prescott like many of us were asking them to draft him. But instead, they draft Christian fucking Hackenberg in the second round and he won't even see the fucking field this year!!!

OK, you wanted Dak and they didn't draft him, like 30 other teams. We get it.

Last year has nothing to do with this year. They beat us by 5 twice. Both games could've gone either way at the end.

Buffalo has no dominance over the Jets. The Jets are gonna come out pissed off Thursday night. They know they gave one away today. We're winning that game.
Do we have a better team than the Bills? YES

Should we win this game, especially considering how many good players are sidelined for the Bills? YES

But until this team shows me that this matchup means as much to them and they want to win as badly for their coach as the Bills want to beat us for Rex, there's no way I can feel good about this game. Last year I saw two games where the Bills played like they wanted it more. We'll have a chance to change that on Thursday, but seeing is believing.

Actually you took it too far when you said we're worse than Cleveland. That was the dead giveaway. You're way too smart about football to say that and mean it.

Definitely didn't mean it.

I think the Jets are still right where I thought they were at 12:59 today. They are a solid team, a good team, who will again be on the fringes of the playoffs. I actually think the team is better this year, but the schedule should drive them to a 9-7 record. So yes, they may be an improved team, but with a slightly worse record.

Does 9 wins get them in? Well, 10 didn't last year, so I doubt it. Truth is, short term, I don't think there is a great team in this division, including the Pats. Long term, the Jets may be in better shape than the rest of the division.

After playing listless against the Ravens, can Rex get them so fired up in a short week that they play above themselves and beat the Jets?

One thing we learned about Rex when he was with the Jets, and we learned again last year, he's a mediocre coach over a 16 Game season, but he can get his teams fired up for the games that matter most to him personally. With us it was NE whom we usually played tough, even as big underdogs, and last year it was verses us, the team that fired him. That said, I have NO DOUBT he will have his team ready to give their maximum effort on Thursday. It will be no different than last year in that respect. What needs to be different is US matching their intensity, or we'll suffer the same results.

Should I put you on suicide watch???? You've gone mental if you don't think the Jets can beat the Browns..............

LOL, I atleast think the Jets can beat the Browns. Them and about 5-6 other teams on the schedule.

The one thing is, that team looked uninspired for the opener. The Jets came out with far more fire than the Bills today, against a far better team.

Now, Rex can get a team up under normal circumstances for big games. Today should have been a big game for them. The opener always is. Now he has 96 hours to turn a sleepwalker into a fired up group. Even for Rex, that is a tough task. It may benefit the Jets that there is such a short turnaround. One, it doesn't give Rex the same length of time to get his guys pumped. But also for the Jets, when your heart is broken like that, there's nothing you want more than to get right back onto the field.

i was extremely confident the jets would have swept buffalo last season.. instead we got swept & were flat in both games.. hell, out coached as well..

i'm starting to think with the combination of bowles' handling of petty & watching revis getting fried all day, he might be over his head..

or too stubborn for his own/our damn good..

I'm glad you think so. Keep up the optimism! I hope we win but the way the Bills punked us both games last year, it's hard to see right now. Think about it, the Bills came in NY-NJ in Rex's first game back in Metlife after being fired and they beat us in a primetime game. Then the Bills beat us in the last game of the season, when they had nothing to play for and the Jets had everything to play for. Both are inexcusable losses and none of us can deny that! So you keep up the optimism if you want but I'll take the approach of show me why I should be optimistic and then I will be.

OK, we've talked negatives. Secondary, Folk, Fitz's pick, clock management, etc.

Let's talk about some positives moving forward.

1. DL pass rush. Seven sacks, mostly from the line. McLendon is a GREAT fit. And Sheldon is coming back.

2. That young WR out of OSU looks like a legit returner and contributor to the receiving corps. No, not Devon Smith. Jalin Marshall.

3. Enunwa is a serious weapon in this offense. He is versatile, and he can make some serious catches.

4. Lachlan Edwards looks seriously legit as a punter.

5. Some of the OL issues have been grossly overstated. Brian Winters looked very sharp.

Even without Dak Prescott?

LOL, yes without Dak Prescott! Let's get something straight here, I'm not saying Fitz is the reason the Jets loss today but he did nothing to help them win. Anyone who wants to argue that is just blind. Yes Marshall dropped a key pass or two and maybe a few others but Fitz left quite abit hanging on the field. Still in all, this loss was strictly on the secondary, coaching and kicker. I will admit that whole heartingly. However, we are talking about a young QB like Prescott that the Jets should have drafted or a young QB like Petty, that the Jets should be playing right now.

Either young QB would have done no worse then Fitz today or this year period. So if the Jets aren't going to win a SB with Fitz, then why play him? Were not talking about a franchise veteran QBs like Brady or Breez or Big Ben or Eli or even Rivers or Romo. Were talking about Fitzpatrick, Fitzpatrick REALLY, REALLY!!! The Jets messed up two ways here people, not drafting Dak (first and foremost) and second, not playing Petty being that they didn't draft Dak! Maybe just my opinion but if we don't win a SB with Fitz this year, then I will continue to feel this way and say over and over and over again. So be prepared to be pissed at me Jets faithful and personally, I could care less!!!

The most disappointing and frustrating part of this game is that everyone knew the whole key to this game was containing AJ Green. Go back and read the first few pages of this thread, its all we talked about all week, the importance of doubling AJ Green all day, on every play, and forcing someone else to beat us ... even us novices could figure that out.

AND YET, with all of that said, the SOB clips us for 12/180

IOW's we let him do exactly what we feared he would do if we didn't double him from the moment he left the bus ...

HE WRECKED THE GAME

I'd add Matt Forte as a positive also. He had a nice game.

Lawrence Thomas #97, looked good. When Richardson gets back, Jenkins better lookout #97 was making things happen on special teams also. I think Ham already spoke about this.

I think we learned today that Lawrence Thomas is NOT the guy who is getting dropped when we activate Sheldon this week. I'm pretty sure LT played more snaps than Jenkins and Deon Simon today. Gonna be interesting to see who we drop, but I know it won't be Thomas, there's no way they are exposing that kid to waivers.
