Before the children of Israel were allowed to enter the promise land, a generation of non believers wondered in the desert for 40 year on a journey that should have taken them probably less than a year. The Moses generation had to die off allowing for the Joshua generation of believers to make it in . In the case of the Jets, Moses might be represented by Namath. I’ll say it again, you can’t bring your past to your future and expect success.
