Most on this list are players that would have been on the roster in previous years. The team is stacked with talent even on the OL but has a major void at QB if we can’t keep the old timer upright.

If you mean NFL backup, then I agree with you. I didn't think Boyle looked like a starter. He has some nice throws but so did Wilson. He played at a lower tier and did not have significantly better numbers than Wilson...or better numbers for that matter.
I believe Boyle can be activated on game days as the emergency QB and not count on the a active 48 game roster under the new rules.
At wide receiver, undrafted free agent WR/returner Xavier Gipson, UDFA Jason Brownlee and first-year wideout Irvin Charles are on the initial roster of 53 along with the veteran wideouts in Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman Jr. and Randall Cobb. Saleh said he sees fewer players this year basically having their football road come to a dead end.

Sad for two cuts: Boyle because I think the guy had some potential. And Kuntz because of all the lost comedy potential.
I have to wonder there are 4 players that could land on short term IR when the season officially starts so figure they will re-sign Thomas Morestead, after week 1 reinstate Brandin Echols (after week 1) . Any player that is place on IR now is done for the season and the team only can bring back two from long term IR during the season and with
of these four maybe Odenigbo and Moreland could be brought back not to mention we also have one on PUP list

they are keeping 4 tight ends on the roster. Bawden is more than done here in New York unless he qualifies to be on the practice squad.
