That's how I see it. This isn't a one year turnaround, so if it means keeping Sam another year and accumulating more quality draft choices I'm all in. I'd be happy with .500 record next year as long as we're building on young talent.And if after doing that (we would obviously be sticking with Darnold) the D man flops, not only is our pick going to be another high one, but with all the other picks we would have, there would be plenty ammo to trade to the top if needed to get the “next best thing” QB that comes out next year.

If Darnold flops? That will leave us with an upgrade at QB, even if it isn’t “next best” material, behind a much upgraded O-line, and more skill position weapons. And if that new guy isn’t “next best” we won’t have to trade up too far to get him if at all, giving us more picks to upgrade the entire roster even more.Trouble is...........according to most scouts there isn't going to be a next best thing in next years QB class so where does that leave us.............?
