He’s got balls for comparing the worst rated QB the past three years to those guys

also JD isn’t putting it out there that Sam is the guy
Sam Darnold trade rumors: Jets' Joe Douglas says team 'will answer' calls about possibly trading QB

even though way back when, when he said when you have a franchise quarterback you don't take calls... but never did he say Sam Darnold was a franchise quarterback that the media is trying to say now... even those twitter Jets hoes quoting that statement but no where is Sam's name in it...

the one thing Joe Douglas stated is Sam has potential and needs to be surrounded with talent and coaching, which seems the plan now after he was able to get full control of his job...

so when the OC and HC determine if Sam is the guy to roll with they will confer with the GM and the decision then will be made, sorry @Bigmoe but that statement now means SHIT!!!

In fairness, Dan, while the comparisons may be close, in each of those categories you listed, Sam was worse than the others. More picks, fewer yards per attempt. Close, but worse.

That’s a buulshit argument
Pick 3 really good players that went on to have a good / great career that match up INTs to Sams

I’ll bet there’s a ton of QBs that sucked didn’t go on in the NFL that had less INTs than all of them and never made it

How bout he touch on this:

Darnold ranks dead last out of this
quarterbacks with a minimum number of 300 attempts in yards per attempt (5.9), second last in passing yards (1,912) and touchdowns (8) and third from last in completion percentage (58.8). On paper, Darnold is one of the worst quarterbacks in the league.Jan 2, 2021“

And we didn’t even look at INTs

Just spinning his argument

I remember him saying Darnold is the best QB of the class of 2018.
He has to back up that previous quote.
While he's comparing, let him compare the U.S.C. quarterback success in the N.F.L. vs. other schools.

Douglas is smart enough to keep his cards close to the vest with Darnold. He is keeping his options completely open as he should and no amount of speculating from the media or fans really matters. The one constant is his insistence that great organizations build through the draft. To me that means he will do one of two things: draft a QB at 2 and trade SD, or keep SD trade down and see if all of that 'talent' bubbles to the surface with new surrounding assets with better coaching and a scheme that may better fit his skills. I seriously doubt he mortgages the future by banking on one player either Watson or Wilson. Just one fan's speculation.

A few years ago, and probably rightly so, players in the NFL fought for guaranteed monies on their "player unfriendly" contracts. In the N.B.A., you don't have to make a foul shot and the contract is guaranteed.
Now it seems the trend is to "have a voice in decision making".
I don't believe in trading away everything for Watson. He might even win 3 games with the Jets if he won four with Houston.
Draft Wilson!!

Consider the source in all of this. The only thing Orlovsky knows about being able to play quarterback in the NFL is he couldn't do it.
