Not to step on your revisionist history text but Mangini was the coach and a bad one at that.
The only two personnel/ scouting area decisions he was reported to be begging for was 1) getting the Jets to take Gholston who he loved and 2) in Cleveland accepting three scrap heap quality players in exchange for the overall fifth pick in the draft while failing there.
I guess you could add ruining Vernon Davis' career in SF to complete the Mangini trifecta
How did Mangini ruin Vernon Davis' career? Did he stomp on his toes really hard? Did he smash his hands with a hammer? Did he say really mean things to him? Oh, Mangini hurt him with his words? He effected him psychologically? so deeply that his career was ruined?
Is there any hope he can get into counseling so he can embark on a comeback?
