That is a nice signing, as I was highly interested in the player when he was in the draft.

I like his potential, I like infusing new players into camp who aren't over 30 looking to prove they aren't too old.
My hope is that this guy can do more than fair catch kerley, his speed is awesome. Would it be too much to hope we can better spread the defense this year and have this guy do a shallow cross and catch and burn the d across the middle? Maybe average 20 yards a catch across the middle?

so how about we re-sign powell, draft a RB in the early to mid rounds & trust gailey to maximize archer's speed.. & yes, sincerely wish ivory the best on signing his last big contract somewhere..LOL
A poster on another board said he went to a Steelers board, and that is exactly what they are saying.
As I told Raider, I liked Archer in the draft. 4.26 speed is exciting to think about. Don't think he's returned punts in the pro's. i can only find one punt for two yards.
He's a RB with 4.26 speed, has decent hands. I'm hoping Gailey can find a niche for him in the O where he can maximize that blinding speed.
As clever as Gailey has shown he can be, he should be able to hook up some nice mismatches with LB'ers and slow S's. Look what he did for Powell. All of a sudden DC's had to game plan for him. A lot of people feel that Powell might have been the difference in the Bills game. lol a lot of people wanted to cut Powell last off season.
it's February. I'm going to fantasize about Marshall , Decker, a healthy Devin Smith, A 6'7" healthy Zack Sudfeld living up to the "Baby Gronk" rep, and a RB with 4.26 speed being covered by a LB'er![]()
Wonder if MJ will show up to straighten me out. :global (6):

This kid has rare speed, and its not just track speed, it completely translates in pads.i think this the kid Green Jets & Ham wanted us to grab..
Granted it didn't workout for the Steelers, but it didn't workout for Tavon Austin his first two years with the Rams either, then he had a bust-out season this year. Archer and Austin are very similar players. If you devise a scheme to get them the ball in space, they are lethal, threats to take it the distance from anywhere on the field, what we call home-run hitters. I'm not so sure the Steelers didn't give up on Archer too soon.
I don't think he's ever gonna be a starting RB or WR, but I'm shocked the Steelers couldn't devise a package to utilize his blinding speed. I still think he can be an explosive all-purpose guy who can run, receive and return.Hope so. It worries me that they were decimated at the position and he couldn't find even a small role

What? Look I thought Bilal Powell sucked because I hadn't ever seen anything from him. earlier this season, he was always injured. Hard to justify keeping him when he's not paying any returns? But Powell played great down the stretch and showed a LOT more than he ever had before. I hope the Jets resign him now. It's obvious he works in Gailey's offense.
