Definitely makes sense, but don't discount Mike Tanny's willingness to make a big splash. Tannehill might be an attractive QB for Kelly.

he definitely didn't deserve to be the HC & GM, and was in way over his head on the dual role. but he was fairly successful his first 2 years as a head coach (10-6, 10-6), much to my surprise. i don't disagree that he's probably better off in college, but i can see him getting another shot in the pros if he's willing to accept being just a coach.

if he goes back to college, he probably would have been the perfect candidate for USC, but they elevated the interim coach to head coach.

Maybe the Titans give him a shot, and try to spark magic between him and Mariota. But I still think his issue is more schematic.

He is perfectly suited for the college game, where his type offense works, and where he has total control over who he and his assistants recruit.

I'm sure this time last year on JI there were people hoping that due to the ongoing issues at the Eagles, that we could engineer a trade for Kelly as our new HC...

I say tenn but most likely college that is his style some great college coach's just were not nfl material......holtz,spurrier, and bowden to name a few i am sure their are plenty more.
