Since it was Peyton who recommended Gase to the Johnsons, his name should be banned from this Jets board.
So let it be written.
So let it be done!

I did once mention, post Gase firing for Peyton to lose the Johnson's number.
Charley Casserly got $50 K for recommending was it Maccagnon or Idzik?
Geez....Belichick would have done it for $25 large.

Brady was sacked 41 times his first year, more sacks than Darnold ever had...
he was also pressured 41 times. sacked each time. Darnold spent the season on the run. and when you run 3 plays every drive then punt, your sack numbers stay down too as do your points scored

number of times sacked really is not a great stat. brady gets sacked any time someone is near him. usually by giving himself up and falling to the ground. Darnold gets pressured every play. runs around until someone on the other team is open, then throws an int to them

I never gave the kid a chance behind this offensive line. young guys need time to learn. once that fear of getting blindsided gets in their head it is hard to get rid of. if bradys first 3 years were in Darnolds place these past 3 years, he would suck too

Peyton was probably my favorite qb along with Brees, Montana. All good guys too. after recommending Gase, I have to say, he drops down a few pegs

I just looked it up because 41 shocked me. what I just saw was brady was sacked "only 21" times in 2020. and averages only 25 per year in his 100 plus year career

and that, in an Arians offense that is known for getting most much more mobile quarterbacks sacked 40 plus times a season

Somebody messed with my post. I meant that stuff about Peyton Manning, not hidee-ho.
What happened?
LI also commented about Manning and that post seems to be missing, too.

I censored the names individually and put replacement words in place but back to normal unless you really want that in place....

you said that the name Peyton Manning should be banned from this site so G made it happen. he took away Peytons name and replaced it with hidee ho. he meant it to be funny, not for any bad reason. I thought it was funny

Gotcha' It went right over my head.
Thanks. I literally laughed out loud when I read your explanation.
I didn't realize I had that much power. :)

This kid Zack Wilson is very impressive I must admit. His throwing abilities, arm strength, accuracy, creativeness and intuition is very catchy. Sorta A. Rodgers or Mahomes like. However; he did that at BYU against talent that he will most likely not see on this level. If he was doing this in a power 5 conference than I’d be all in. Now I’m now saying that he can’t and must likely he will make all this translate to this level but it’s wait and see for me.

Josh Allen, Big Ben, Steve McNair and Carson Wentz to name a few made their talents transition to the big leagues rather quickly pretty much but as you can see, this is few and far in between. Other hall of fame QBs from smaller schools like Kurt Warner, Steve Young, Terry Bradshaw and Brett Favre it took them a little longer to make the transition. I don’t know which category Zach Wilson will fit into but we’re going to have to patient and give him time to figure it out.

Of course the coaching staff, weapons around him and oline helps in that process which it seems it’s coming together for him. As long as he can make this transition and have some success like these above mentioned QBs than we’ll be good. Justin Fields on the other hand has had that success against power schools in college and that the competition he will see for the most part in the NFL. So one would figure Justin would translate that talent into the NFL easier but that doesn’t always work out that way.

Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, Josh Rosen, Jemarcus Russell and so many others have played for big time schools but failed in the NFL. So I guess it doesn’t matter in the end where you played college ball, talent is talent and if you got it, you should be able to make it translate in the NFL. The more positives I hear on Zack and the more film I see on this kid, the better I feel but I’m still very uneasy about this. It may take Zack Wilson a few years to make the adjustment or it might happen immediately. I just hope it happens PERIOD!

While we fondly remember Broadway Joe, let me the first to name our new quarterback Hackensack Zach.

Very good! His uncle owns Jet Blue, may he be "Jet Green".

Jets faithful, I’m sure I’m not the only Jets fan who feels this way but I’m extremely nervous about this Zach Wilson draft pick. I would much rather the Jets draft Justin Fields but at this point, I would be just as nervous about that pick I must admit. It has been so many years that the Jets have drafted a QB in the first or second round and it hasn’t worked out for whatever reason.

I’m going to trust in Joe D and Saleh to make the right decision but I’m truly not feeling good about this Zack Wilson guy. He comes from out of nowhere from a 2nd or 3rd caliber D1 football conference and takes over Fields as the 2nd best QB in the draft, WTF???

When the Jets drafted Darnold I thought that was it. I thought we had our 15-20 year starter and success story. The QB that was going to help bring us our next SB championship. Strong dreams can die hard I guess. Over the past 25 years the Jets have drafted at least 5-7, QBs in the 1st or 2nd round and it has kicked us in the ass every time.

- Chad Pennington: could have been our success story but injuries killed that notion.
- Kellon Clemons: bust pretty much
- Christian Hackenburg: bust
- Mark Sanchez: mild success but nothing really worth mentioning
- Geno Smith: bust pretty much
- Sam Darnold: unknown at this point. He failed us for whatever reason. Whether the coaching staff, the weapons around him or the oline issues, he failed us. I think we can say this, not every play was he on his back or running for his life. He did have time to throw the ball or make something positive happen but most times he didn’t for whatever reason. He’s only 23 years old and still can turn it around. He just won’t be doing it with us.

Richard Todd and Ken O’Brien draft picks worked out pretty well for us. They played a decent amount of years and had some success but nothing to really stamp in history. Broadway Joe is all we have at this point and injuries cut his career short as well. Well so did all the alcohol, partying and women and all factors took probably 5 years off his career I would say. To be honest, Joe Namath stats wasn’t out of this world. Not compared to today’s standards anyway. He throw way more interceptions than he did touchdowns and his completion percentage was only 50%. His popularity and SB prediction and victory is really all we have to hold onto as far as he’s concerned.

This new regime will be under ALOT of scrutiny if Zach Wilson doesn’t work out and Sam Darnold does well in Carolina. It would be the same pressure and scrutiny if they drafted Fields and he didn’t work out and Darnold did well in Carolina. I just hope there right on this one!!!

I'm nervous also but not about Wilson. In the back of my mind, I think the Jets will take Fields. I want no part of Fields. The Jets being so tight lipped only adds to the anxiety. In fact, I would be ok with any other QB in this draft including Mac Jones and Lance instead of Fields. But would be happy with Wilson too.

Two things puzzle me prior to the draft. Probably a hundred if I thought more about it.
1. Why is there a puzzle everyone is making about the 49ers moving up? I'm sure what they gave up to get to # 3, is they have to know who they want, and;
2. I feel for Sam as the Panthers are "collecting quarterbacks". I wish him the best, and he deserves to be #1 if he improves.
