I'd kindly disagree. I got 2 First rd. talents with my 1st two picks... you reached by1 whole round for your QB.

I'll get some OL depth from camp cuts, UDFA signings and hope Carpenter, Aboushi and Dozier can take the next step this year. Finding my Franchise QB, a strong receiving back and a very good WR to develop behind Marshall my priorities this draft.

I picked the 4th ranked RB in this draft while you picked the 10th best. My LB actually played LB. Yours played DE and will need to transition: Analysis below from NFL.com....enjoy

Dupree:
Sources Tell Us "He's a little slow to diagnose, which causes him to get a late start on plays. I would ask him to drop into space in zone dog looks and that's about it. To me, he's a pure see 'em, get 'em 3-4 rush end." -- NFC East regional scout
NFL Comparison Jamie Collins

Bottom Line Dupree is an explosive, powerful athlete with a background in basketball. While he's been productive at Kentucky, his tape doesn't always do his potential justice. He must continue to improve as a pass rusher, but his traits are undeniable. Difference between being good and great might be his coordinator.

Mauldin:
Sources Tell Us "He'll get pegged as a 3-4 rush 'backer, but a 4-3 team could look at him as a situational pass rusher if he is there late second day." -- AFC area scout

"He overcame a tough childhood and developed a mindset that nothing is going to stop him. He works his butt off and he wants to be great. I'm cheering hard for this kid and I'll bang the table for him when the time is right." -- NFC North scout

NFL Comparison Akeem Ayers

Bottom Line Known for strong mental makeup, Mauldin is expected to check all of the character boxes, according to scouts. Productive pass rusher with a knack for beating tackles inside. Finds the ball quickly and chases against the run. Very active, productive collegiate player.

Mariotta kept dropping and I kept adding picks as I traded down.....not realistic, but I would take this despite not loving MM

Tried it four times and wish I knew about this sooner. This was fun as hell. I dropped the ball on this one big time. Keep in mind I'm not a college guru so I went with the best players by ranking and need IMO at whatever round I drafted them or players or names I'm familiar. It will be four separate post so judge away:

First through Fanspeak:

1st rd: DE/OLB, Shane Ray, Missouri

2nd rd: RB, Melvin Gordon, Wisconsin

3rd rd: WR, Sammie Coates, Auburn

4th rd: OT, Daryl Williams, Oklahoma

7th rd: QB, Sean Mannion, Oregon State

7th rd: G, Mark Glowinski, WVU

Green Jets & Ham

King Of All Draftniks

Used CBS (Rob Rang) rankings and this is what I came up with on the first try:

http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/draft.php?d=sjxnht

Having taken Devin Smith in RD 3, I was tempted to snatch OG Ali Marpet in RD 4, but the value for Dorsett was too much to pass on in that spot. The dude just ran a 4.25 at his pro day, so I doubled up on the wideouts.

RD 1. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
RD 2. Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
RD 3. Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State
RD 4. Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami
RD 7. Jarvis Harrison, T/G, Texas A&M
RD 7. Obum Gwacham, 34OLB, Oregon State

I would be doing cartwheels, but Gurley will never be there at 37, Smith is not falling to RD 3, and Dorsett is not falling to RD 4. It happened in this simulation so I drafted accordingly, but it will never happen in real life.

Round 1 Pick 6: Randy Gregory, DE, Nebraska
Round 2 Pick 5: Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
Round 3 Pick 6: Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami
Round 4 Pick 5: Devin Funchess, WR, Michigan

Would love the Jets to continue to address the OL in the draft but it was tough to pass on guys like Gurley and Perryman.

If Fowler is off the board you have to think that the Jets will try to trade back in the draft. Hopefully Mariota is still around and we can use it as trade bait.
