This may very well be the point at which I join the contingent who think Bowles needs to go.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing
Patriots will be a tough game, I think get this one out of the way and then Bryce has clear path to start.
Bowles did have a good point,he doesn't give out jobs,you have to take it, and while I saw promise in petty,he certainly did not take the job.

That may be true, but Fitzpicksix has done nothing to have taken the job, either.

I disagree. Fitz knows the entire play book,apparently petty doesn't. Fitz has the job, it's up to petty to take it away. 1td/ 1int for 140 yards isn't taking it away.

Still better than some/many of Fitz's games.
Even with the premise that Petty didn't take the job..... Fitz has played the worst football of any QB in the NFL this season... So he should ahve lost his job based solely on his shitty play.... No reason no to take the unknown Petty over the known garbage Fitz has been this year.
And on a 2nd point. Bowles and Gailey have said since training camp Petty has the whole playbook opem to him now.... Criticizing Petty for Gailey's absolutely shit of a game plan, and absolutely shit play calling, and Galiey's absolutely shit of game day adjustments is way off base...
Now I am not saying Petty was, is, or even will be great but he deserves the shot to start for the reminder of the season for 2 reasons
1. He cannot do worse than the worst QB in the NFL
2. We need to see what his real potential is.
This isn't Romo and Dak.... If Fitz got hurt before the season and Petty played and he played several games looking like he did against the Rams then Yes you are right he didn't take the job like he should have, like Dak did. SO I agree with your perspective from a certain POV just not this one.. Not even close...
I agree. Although I want to see more of Petty, Bowles is trying to win games. He's not thinking about 2017 like us. With Petty, Gailey is streamlining the playbook to accommodate his limited experience. And that means predictability.
Like it or not, if Fitz plays well, we actually have a chance at beating NE. But a lot of that is contingent on the defense showing up.
Petty will have his chance soon, I think we fans are micromanaging. If Fitz stinks it up Sunday, petty will have his shot. Petty would have the added advantage of the Patriots not studying him.

Gailey streamlining the palybook is on Gailey.. Not Petty.. he knows the playbook... If a QB doesn't knwo the playbook in the middle of year 2 he isn't on your roster and barley lucky to be on your PS... Galey was trying to be cautious and they are now handling Petty with kid gloves. Take the gloves off. It's time. Seriously no one believes the Jets are trying to win game cause Fitz is there best option at this point... As stated above our best option right now is the unknown of what Petty can or cannot do....
For the first time in my life I hope the Pats destroy the Jets. I want the organization to see Bowles sucks and that Fitz is useless as a starting QB and always has been.

Todd Bowles says Fitzpatrick is healthy. "He's been our starter. I don't see anything that would change that right now."
Perhaps thrusting petty to the lions isn't wisest.

You nor I do not know if he knows the full playbook ... based on last weeks GP, I would say he never had a chance. They played him against one of the better DL in the league with a patchwork OL and he played OK for a ROOKIE. key word is rookie with NO game experience ... he still lofted a 55 yard beauty that fitz can only dream about and marched his team to a 99 yard TD... That shows promise if nothing else.
IMHO Bowles is doing this to save his job and nothing else.... it is apparent to me at least that he has lost part of if not all of the team. H simply coaches scared and not to lose which is and always has been a receipt for losing.
