Sweet!! Stick to your guns Mac and get him for slightly more than backup money. Fitz has proven what he is time and time again. Unfortunately he is our best option. He won't have success anywhere other than Denver and there is no guarantee that will happen. I like what the Jets are doing. I say give him $6M first year and if he proves he can get to playoffs then year two he gets $10M. In Fitz's case, he is the one player in the league that needs to prove it again for another year before the Jets pay him big money. Stick to your guns Mac!! Fitz is the last QB we should be giving big money to.

Not sure why anyone isn't looking at the Rams opening. I'm not worried about the Broncos--the Rams scare me.

Jets reportedly interested in trading for Kaepernick

The Jets are among the teams interested in trading for 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN (Mar. 10).

Aside from the Jets, the Browns and Broncos are also said to be in on Kaepernick, who the 49ers want a second round pick in exchange for.

It was reported earlier on Thursday that the Jets are 'nowhere close' to an agreement with free agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Mar. 10).

Meanwhile, Michael Silver said on the NFL Network that the Broncos have made Kaepernick their top target and that they've yet to reach out to Fitzpatrick.

I'm well on record that I think bringing Kaepernick to the Jets is a terrible idea. But with Fitzpatrick's camp unwilling to budge, this is the obvious other side of the fulcrum that Maccagnan and the Jets can work right now while the Fitzpatrick situation plays itself out.

If Fitzpatrick's agent Jimmy Sexton is going to threaten that the Jets might be out of luck with Fitzpatrick, then the Jets need to explore other options just like Sexton is supposedly doing.

I like how the Jets are looking elsewhere at the QB position. Hoyer and possible trade for CK. Fitz may end up as a low paid backup if he doesn't lower his demands. Mac won't wait around for him and I love that!!

Fitzy had a career year last year and ideal weather conditions for the most part, other than the last game where he stunk. I'd like to bring him back, but I wouldn't break the bank. IMO this offer is more than fair and as high as I would go. If he can get more elsewhere, I wish him luck. Then we draft another QB and make the transition to Petty.
