One man is dead and two were injured in a drive-by shooting in Orlando early Sunday morning..

The shooting took place at about 4:09 a.m. at the intersection of Southland Boulevard and Orange Blossom Trail, several blocks north of the Florida Mall, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Deputies responded to a shooting call and arrived to find a Jeep the driver dead inside and two other men with gunshot wounds on the sidewalk.

The victims said that an unknown vehicle pulled up beside them at the red light and opened fire into the Jeep, deputies said.

The deceased driver was identified as Dreekins Oriko Johnson, 28.

The two living victims, Reggie Johnson and Chris Johnson, both 29, were taken to a hospital in stable condition. Reggie Johnson was shot in the shoulder, hand and leg, while Chris Johnson was shot in the shoulder.

The relationship of the victims was not listed.

The investigation into the case was ongoing.

Close call for CJ. What a terrible tragedy. Hopefully, those that survived will be OK.

I had an uncle who once told me, "nothing good happens when you're out and about after 2am". Even if you're doing the right thing, you always need to be aware of the other guy.

Always brilliant to be cruising the Boulevards of the gangland section of DisneyDump, FL at 4 AM Sunday.

Sad, awful situation. Such acts of violence are just senseless.

I wish I was perplexed by ESPN framing it as "former Jet Chris Johnson," when he spent five minutes with the Jets, and years with the Titans. I might chalk it up to it being the most recent place he's played, but I've seen other former players who have been referred to as "former Jet," even if they've gone on to play elsewhere, particularly when the news is negative. I wish this confused me. But it doesn't. It's ESPN's agenda.

Well, at least for the time being CJ could not have been useful to us, but I firmly believe the Jets made a mistake releasing him. This guy is a house of fire out of the backfield that Geno did not know how to utilize. Where there's smoke there's fire. There's a lot of things Geno does not do well. Now all of a sudden CJ's lack of production is on him? What about Geno not being able to exploit the mismatches CJ brought?
CJ is going to sign on with another team and be a very important cog in their offense. He still has a lot of gas in his tank. Is he 2,000 yard able? No. I can't see that. But he will have great production.

Disagree 100% with everything in this post

He was washed up in 2013 with the Titans

And again in 2014 with the Jets

Hopefully he will recover from his bullet wound so he can begin his post NFL running back career somewhere

Don't think so...he could play and make some splash plays..but for the most part he is done...he is not tough avoids contact and dances too much...he EXPECTS the OL to make him a hole...Chris Ivory anticipates no hole and runs through people....

Well I guess we'll see about that. Whichever team he hooks up with next will tell us if we made the right choice. With that said, there's no doubt this guy can still catch the ball and he still has that blazing speed he had in TN. Geno could not exploit anything. The guy is a trainwreck. He inaccurate, cannot read defenses, cannot go through progressions, forces the ball consistently, was unable to find his safety valves, takes dumb ill advised sacks, becomes an ever bigger idiot in the red zone.

But CJ not producing is CJ's fault?

OK. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but OK.:smiley-angry046:

seems like you are looking to place blame on geno for an aging and deteriorating RB no longer being a top player. he fell off in 2013 in tenn and didn't show anything with the jets last year with either geno or vick at QB.

he's no longer a top player and won't command much interest in the market. it's the nature of the game that RBs hit a wall after a ton of usage. this has nothing to do with geno.

Well MJ....ehhhhh. yes.

Unless you believe he was attacked by the infamous "dances, then runs into piles for two yards" elf

Cant recall the game, but he had a brutal fumble early on, that helped set the tone for the rest of the season. Total waste of time and money

Agreed. He's done. Wish we used him more in the screen game this past season but as an RB he is done.

RB's are suddenly a hot commodity right now. Otherwise, I'd agree.

Does The Post realize that when a player is cut from a team, he is no longer on that team?

"Jets running back Chris Johnson injured in fatal drive-by shooting"

"Jets running back Chris Johnson was shot in the shoulder in the early hours of Sunday morning in his hometown of Orlando, Fla."

http://nypost.com/2015/03/08/jets-running-back-chris-johnson-injured-in-fatal-drive-by-shooting/

Of course they realize that. They choose to ignore it to recklessly print media. Desperate industry.
