The most amazing thing is how Brady has bungled this whole saga. He should fire every advisor, lawyer and PR man he has working for him.

He has turned a jaywalking ticket into a first degree murder charge

I am amazed at the degree to which Patriots fans have deluded themselves to make Brady the victim and Goodell the perpetrator.

It's actually frightening. It's a scary example of human nature. Other teams' fans get on their players when they are caught. Look what we said about Richardson when he got caught for pot. If he had been a Patriot, the test would have been rigged, it would be a witch hunt by Goodell, and Richardson would be the victim, rather than the guy who was stupid enough to get caught a second time with pot in his system.

I think Brady sues the NFL, somehow gets a postponement to his case till after the season and then retires. That would suit me fine..

Mike, This case will be thrown out quickly by the Superior Court, the suspension will stand @ 4 games, and Brady's career will be "tarnished" the rest of his career & life.

Go Jets...Cyborg

I'd like to see the courts delay the ruling, then rule against Brady in December, so he has to sit out the key games late in the season or in the postseason.

But I think it's possible his lawyers delay it until after the season, and he retires before it would take effect.

So Brady and the NFLPA are filing a lawsuit. I cannot wait to see how it goes.

They actively worked against the investigation, failing to cooperate with interview requests, destroyed evidence, and somehow it's the investigators who are biased and unprofessional? Seriously?

Maybe so, but it would be a fairer rendition if it ended with "knowing full well the company deleted the messages long before we asked about them."

There are legal experts who have commented the request for an injunction will be rejected fairly quickly.

Maybe this has been mentioned already so excuse me if it has but can anyone explain to me why Leveon Bell's suspension can be dropped a game but Brady's couldn't? Don't get it twisted, I hate Brady as much as anyone that ain't a Pats fan or especially a Jets fan but fair is fair. In fact, I personally wished they suspended him for a full year but being that they didn't and it was only four games, if they can drop Bell's by one game, why couldn't they do it for Brady? What am I missing here? I mean Bell did commit a actually crime and Brady didn't!

I've seen some fans making this analogy, and it bothers me. The league is more responsible for competitive balance on the field than for actions off the field.

For example, if a player uses stick-um on the field, or belongs to some hate group off the field, the two offenses should be treated differently. One is a violation of league rules, the other violates the law.

Most of us would very much say that belonging to a hate group is more serious than the use of stick-um. However, when it comes to league suspensions, the guy who used stick-up should ABSOLUTELY get suspended for longer than the guy who belongs to some hate group.

It's a crude analogy, but the point is, what happens off the field is often more severe than what happens on the field, but it's up to the league to protect what happens on the field.

So if this is all about the cheating aspects and how it makes the league look or the perception of it then I guess I get it. Still seems pretty foul because players committing crimes or belonging to hate groups (per your example) makes the league look just as bad. If not worse, really if you ask me! What's the old saying, "If you ain't cheaten, you ain't tryin" and nobody does better it then the Pats.

Although, all teams cheat or push the lines including our beloved Jets. Fair is fair is all I'm saying and our beloved Jets have to get better at cheating. Maybe then we can win some Lombardi trophies. Besides, does anyone here truly believe deflated footballs helped the Pats beat the Colts by 40 points? I damn sure don't! Colts just got their ass handed to them.

1. It's not about making the league look bad. It's about ensuring the integrity of the game. A guy hits a woman off the field, it's awful, but it does not endanger the integrity of the game. A guy doctors footballs, it's not nearly as bad an offense in the grand scheme, but it severely endangers the integrity of the game.

2. The deflated footballs had nothing to do with the Pats destroying the Colts. But you don't suspend the rules because a game is a blowout. And if the Pats have been doing this for a while, it may have impacted previous close games, including the close game the week before against Baltimore. What about the Jets? The Pats beat the Jets twice last year by a combined 3 points. Maybe one turnover each game, or one incompletion on a key third down, makes the difference. And on a larger scale, Tom Brady requested a rules change in 2006 that gave teams more control over game balls. As soon as that rule took effect, and to today, the Pats have had an UNPRECEDENTED run of avoiding fumbles. I'm talking statistics that simply don't just happen on their own.
