Frank Clark

the are a few rumors that the jets are interested in seattle's frank clark, who has been slapped with the franchise tag. reports are if clark had hit the market, the jets would have been all over him.

now the jets are not gonna trade the #3 pick for him and it's doubtful seattle accepts only a 3rd. so i think one thing we could see if macc looking to trade down (maybe with washington looking to grab a QB before the giants?) and get a 1st, 2nd, and some other picks (perhaps next year's 1). take the best o-lineman available with the 1st rounder and trade the 2nd to seattle for clark.

Hob, do you think we can get Clark for a 2nd? I would hate to pass on Allen. Packers would be a good trade down (#12 & #30) 2nd Rd (#43) and a 1st or 2nd next year.

Take Allen ...like Clark but he's due money... after the draft may need money to sign OLine that gets cut

no idea what it would take. i'm sure seattle would want a 1st. not getting #3. doubt they get a 1st from anyone. dee ford went for a 2020 2nd, so perhaps that sets the market. clark is 3 years younger than ford, so more likely just entering his prime

but if you could trade down, draft one of dilliard/williams/bradbury/other O-line, get clark and ANOTHER pick, you fill a lot of needs. obviously it depends on how allen turns out. if he's the next khalil mack or von miller, then it's hard to pass on that on a rookie contract.

Getting more picks would be great if you could trust Mac to not screw up the pick like he has with most.

I think a lot would depend on how Williams feels Clark fits his scheme compared to Allen. To me, that is what all this would hinge upon. I like the plan, but I'd also be quite happy sticking with Allen.

Seattle expecting a 1st for Clark, per latest.

Don’t see how that’s gonna work unless we swap 3 for 21 and get Clark in the deal. But I think Seattle wants more in return.

25 year old with 13 sacks and 3 FF’s last year. Man, we could use one of those.

I would not swap our #3 for Seattles #21 and Clark let alone giving up more.

Clark would definitely fill a need, but not worth #3 pick. I also see that he has prior history of domestic violence, and question whether MM would even bring him in. I know that he and his wife lost a friend in Texas to an abusive husband.

Rapoport saying three teams are in on Frank Clark. Indianapolis, KC, and the Jets. To what degree they’re “in” is the question. I cannot imagine the Jets would surrender the #3 pick unless they got some draft pick compensation, too. Clark is reportedly looking for a massive contract, a contract too rich for Seattle after paying Russell Wilson.

The draft pick plays on an affordable rookie contract for 4-5 years. The FA wants a top end deal for his position.

Major advantage to drafting instead of splurging.

Conflicting reports on Clark. Connor Hughes says they’re interested, Mehta says he’s hearing no interest beyond doing their due diligence looking into him.

There’s sure to be more of this in the next three days.

Clark to KC. They gave up a 2019 1st, a 2020 2nd, and swapped 3rd’s with Seattle. Wow

kind of strange to trade away dee ford for a 2020 2nd and then turn around and make this trade. almost like dee ford and a 1st for clark with a swap of 3rd

clark is younger, but also has baggage

And he's going to cost a lot of money. That's too much of an investment for a position that can very possibly be filled just as well by a draft prospect that's even younger and a hell of a lot cheaper.
