It looks like the Jets are getting Baltimore without their two best pass rushers this week, Suggs and Dumervil.

Other than that, the Ravens have no-one who pressures the QB with any degree of consistency.

In other words this is the IDEAL GAME to give Petty his first NFL start. There might not be another game all year where he'll have as much time in the pocket to go thru his progressions. If you could hand-pick a game to give a young QB his first NFL start, it would be this one, at home verses a team that is minus its best and only legit pass rushers.

its not that he is stupid he has tunnel vision for his guys, well guy now that Decker is on IR...

someone needs to drill it into his thick skull that there are other options on the field other than Marshall...

targeting those options would free up his butt buddy for one on one matchups that they can then take advantage of...

You're probably right, because we have an HC who is devoid of common sense. As I said above, if you asked God for the perfect opponent to give your young QB his first NFL start, He would give you the Ravens munis Suggs and Dumervil.

Geno Smith has been getting 1st team reps all season...

Bryce Petty would need 1st team reps for at least two weeks before I put him into the fire...

Remember I don't like Geno, I am all for Petty but I just am weary on Petty's readiness at this moment in time...

Do I think the season is over, yes and no but at this point in time we don't need to thrust Petty into the fire... Geno is going to do everything we want Fitz to be and right now gives us the best chance to execute <-- as you can see I won't say win because it is the entire team that is sucking arse right now...

look we all want to rush things but this takes time we do need to get the OL figured out. This was the disaster that I saw coming this year. That OL was flawed from the beginning.

I want the Bryce Petty era to start as soon as possible, but this is a guy who's been inactive due to injury. He's not starting anytime soon. He's hurt and not getting practice reps. If a change is made, it's gonna be Geno.

But I'm still getting the feeling that Bowles is going to stay married to Fitz as long as he can. Bowles is living in fantasy land. His words suggest he thinks this season can be turned around.

Fitz will keep getting the snaps, with Geno as #2, for as long as the organization believes the playoffs are even remotely possible. That is just my guess, but I sense the team is not going to pull the plug on this season.

This season has gotten out of hand. At 1-5 and at the rate we're going, this team will have a new Coach next season while possibly keeping Mike Maccagnan as the GM. IMHO, i feel the ultimate plan with Geno Smith was to eventually hold on to him just to get something out of him by the trade deadline. If Fitzpatrick played well, then we could have waited until that November. Unfortunatley, that is not the case any longer.

Since Geno was never in this regimes plans from the get go, its time to expedite the learning curve and see what Bryce Petty has with in these remaining 10 games.He was by far the best QB in preseason. Of course it was against 3rd stringers, but i'd rather see what Petty has than what we've all already have seen of Smith and Fitz for that matter.

Woody must intervene and accept the truth of the matter. We need to get the young players in there and have a youth movement. We must begin from scratch. Though it's evident that Bowles doesnt want to deviate from what he has been doing: Not doing anything.


A huge indication if Petty will play will be this Sunday versus the Ravens is if he is inactivated again and he's 100%...Then Bowles will hear it from the fans and will want him fired. Bryce MUST BE ACTIVATED. These remaining games need to give this kid some sort of game time experience that he can learn from entering 2017.


Also, in last nights game, Gruden had asked Bowles why they have 4 QBs on the roster. Gruden stated that Bolwes responded as "You will see soon enough". Any one else catch that?


In any case, Hopefully Petty starts very soon.

I could not agree with more. It didn't take but about 7 plays to show he sucks. Fitz should be done for this season also. He blew his chances at starting.

Bryce Petty is the future of this team and it's time for that era to start......

Well, I'm one of them and I am right here. Fitz got far less than market value. Based on his numbers from last season, he was deserving of a raise. But most of all, we do not have hindsight to rely on in this case. The Jets did what they thought was best for the team. I do not fault Mac for resigning Fitz and I do not regret the money spent.

With that said, Fitz has blown all of his chances now. He does not deserve to start again. The season is lost and it is time to see what this team for the future.

If I had a crystal ball and had seen this coming of course I would not have resigned him. But that is not the case......

The starter for Sundays game has been deemed undecided as per Bowles.
That would lead to believe that Geno would be the one, right??

Well not necessarily. He was quoted in a conference call regarding Geno Smiths comments and Bowles stated: "I'am not interested in what a back up has to say. He's a back up for a reason. When he gets his chance, he better prove himself."

Again, i'am not convinced tha this regime trusts Geno at all. The meeting at Florham will be very interesting regarding who steps in for Fitz this Sunday. Hopefully it'll be Bryce.

Gas I agree but now that we have hack we need to see what we got.....it is like having a lotto ticket you don't scratch.

I love the Jets but I really don't like many of the players at this time & he is the worse of the lot. I don't like anything about him.

Probably. Fitz the man I admire. He's a team guy and a guy that players rally behind for better or worse. He's a good leader that unfortunately is not gifted with enough athletic skill to lead the team to the playoffs. I like him, but it is definitely time to move on........

I completely understand the need to replace Fitz as the starter.

But I don't understand this post. You don't like the person? I think some perspective is needed here.

Compare him to showboat ODB, ignorant Colin Kaepernick, and Crybaby Cam Newton. I think Fitz is way more respectable than any of these tools. He's much more of a man than any of them. IMO
