There are going to be QB's available right before season. Either cut or traded. Look at Mallett last year. I would not be surprised if Mettnberger or Glennon are available Sept 1st if needed. I wouldn't look for a spot starter. I would look for a younger vet who is caught in a bad situation

The defense is better than 2009's. Fitzpatrick may not win us games but we won't really lose them either. They protect the ball, they will be fine

I generally agree. I just don't want this season spiral out of control. Defense needs to be as good as they look on paper and probably better.

Not really. I was just hoping we could see the upside Geno might have. Fitz has very little upside, but he does have experience on his side and more importantly an understanding of Chans offense. The best part is without Geno we don't have to listen to the Geno haters anymore.

As I mentioned before, as of last night sources say Geno Smith was considering a 2nd opinion on his jaw before a surgical procedure.

From what I’m hearing Geno Smith is very anxious to get back on the field. Wanting to know when is both the safest & earliest he may play.

I see what you're saying now. Ultimately, Fitz is who he is, right? I agree with that. But I would rather that known, then hoping for good Geno and getting bad Geno. Fitz is pretty steady. Like I said, won't win, probably won't lose game for you either. I would think that just protecting the ball is going to help this D. No Sanchez/Geno killer trnovers

Exactly. I feel the same about Fitz as I do about Geno. QB is still our weakest link. I do think Fitz can keep things steady for whole year and let Petty learn from someone who is experienced in this offense and NFL. I don't want Petty learning from Geno because I think Geno is still very immature.

I think that is what will probably be happening. The rest of the team is disappointed but they are all veterans. They will rise above this. Just a hunch

Since I'm apparently the only one baiting other posters and the only one you seem to have any problems with that require you to call me out publicly, I think it's better if I just stop posting here. It will free up your time spent monitoring and reprimanding my posts for more important tasks

If you have not seen both sides getting called out, then you're just selectively reading what you want to read.

Cant Geno play with a broken jaw? Not like he is getting hit on every play..... Hockey players play with broken jaws. Ali fought half a fight with a broken jaw. The only issue I can see is having trouble changing plays at the line.... or making protection adjustments (but I would think Mangold would do that) Maybe Geno can change plays via Ivory. He tells Ivory and Ivory calls it out???
