Geno Smith Out 6-10 Weeks

As long as Fitz plays like he did last year then we will be fine. Just not sure he is capable of that two years in a row. Then again I was never sold on whether Geno could be good either. Good thing is Bowles knows how to help the team win without a real QB.

curious why you posted this today. would the same not apply if geno were the starting QB? did going from geno to fitz make this a must-win game or is it that the season takes on a different look for you since your preferred QB will now not be starting?

No. It was a must win out the gate. Eagles, Colts, and at Phins follow. Morale will fall through the floor if we lose that game and I'd predict 4 wins if we lose 6-8 if we win. The season likely won't be worth following if we get slapped around by Cleveland opening day at home.

Totally agree with hobson54's point. No excuse for the punch, no matter what Geno said. However, sometimes a true leader has to know when to walk away, rather than engaging in macho posturing with a hothead.

This is just terrible. I have not been a Geno fan at all, but I did want to see if he could rise this year to being a decent QB. That's all we needed with this defense. I know that Fitz had a good year, but I feel that he is a "hold the fort" guy at best. He does not have the arm strength to make all the throws. Let's hope that the fort has not been overrun by the time that Geno returns.

That like saying you flick a guy off while driving, he pulls a gun and shoots you, and it's partialky your fault for being shot because you flicked him off.

You can't measure crazy and no argument with a teammate should lead to a punch in the face. It so stupid to blame Geno for iK punching him...

I read a lot of stuff about finger in face, sucker punch, Geno owing him money, etc. I am disappointed that Geno lack the "maturity" to walk away from a situation that was escalating. The real issue here is... why didn't anyone else in the locker room stop it? I do not know the answer but I suspect that his peers "do not" respect him as much as some posters here do....otherwise someone would have step in and stopped it.

AS for our new HC and GM, they did the appropriate and correct thing.

Geno primarily at fault? I'm not any more informed about what actually happened than anyone else. But I know one thing: arguing with someone or putting a finger in someone's face never justifies getting your face pounded in. There's no question who's most at fault here. And he's unemployed right now. Probably for good. Hope it was worth it, IK.

We've never agreed more. I don't care what he said. They are all high paid professionals that won't be for long walking around punching people in the face...

Who cares if he didn't deserve to get punched? He also didn't do anything to HELP the situation.

Bowles made is quite clear that it was a juvenile argument that could have easily stopped way before it escalated. He made no effort whatsoever to absolve Geno of blame.

So I guess we've graduated from "he doesn't have enough talent around him" to "he doesn't have enough maturity around him".

Just let me know when it's PC to boo . . .
