Kinda curious what exactly you are referring to and where you get the fact Smith had character and immaturity issues. I Googled Smith for "issues" and "character", and I get Nolan Nawrocki's very unflattering comments about Smith not being a leader, smug, quiet, doesn't work hard, etc and that he had him the 50th rated player in the draft. I don't translate his comments, as unflattering as they are, to Geno being a bad guy or stupid as several have said on this forum. In fact you could probably attribute those same traits to Eli Manning. So are those the kind of character issues you are referring to? I also get Greg Cosell's comments on Smith's "issues", but he was referring to footwork and that he had a lot of work to do coming from WVU's offensive scheme. If you don't like a guy because he's a bad QB or football player that's fine, I have no problem with that and do it myself often. But to assassinate the guy's character after probably never meeting him and really knowing very little about the man is pretty ridiculous in my opinion.
Bowels referred to both IK and Geno's behavior as childish, and 6th graders could have resolved the incident.
In college Smith attacked a 71 YO DC from behind
Some teams said they had taken Smith off their boards for pre-draft interviews in which he appeared disinterested, and was texting during the interview
His immature behavior during the draft when he announced he was leaving NYC because he wasn't drafted in the first round
Posting pictures of his Johnson
Giving the finger, and cursing out fans
His missed meeting Saturday night before a game he played horribly in because he got confused about time zones, and went to the movies
Was kicked off an airplane because he refused to remove his earbuds, and was rude to the hostess who requested it.
Of course the IK incident, and his involvement in it. Which led Bowles to refer to both of them as being less mature then 6th graders.
Out the next day playing catch when he was told not to.
As yet he hasn't apologized to to his team mates for being a major player in this distraction.
Your correct, we don't know much about him fortunately .
