What your seeing out of the coaching staff is exactly what they typically produce. Gase had 2 awful years in Miami, 1 decent year before running off ant decent talent. His offense by design has no protection, he's said as much and Sam doubled down on it in his post game presser after NE. In Gase's O, it's up to the QB to get the ball out faster than the free runners..... Why do you think his QBs were always injured in Miami... It's a great system for a 20 year vet HOF QB.
Not so much for a very raw kid with nearly no experience playing the position. Even Bates was smart enough to give him extra protection.
Williams plays a very agressive D. It always gives up big plays and we don't have the personal to recover most times. His D's have been league avg when not loaded with talent, and have gotten worse in recent years.
Had Dallas not lost both starting tackles, and their top 2 recievers, we would have been blown out week 6 too. Barely held on to win. Thanks to Adams!!!
We have a HC/OC who has not spoken to the DC in weeks.
Our GM was hired by the H.C., both report to C.J.
Douglas is an unknown, he's a former scout, so was Mac.
Some fans credit him with the Eagles draft success, the Eagles are the only team to have under performed Mac the last 3 seasons. Slightly ahead of him in the 4 years he was here but Douglas was still in Chicago for the 2016 draft, didn't join the Eagles until late June.
Let's hope he turns out to be great in the draft because we need several solid drafts in a row .
Going forward this season, we play the worst teams in the league, there's bound to be several wins, 5-6 should be minimum.
But that will lead to false hope. Gase is the right guy, Darnold is going to lead us to multiple VLTs. The evaluations must be done on a game by game basis against level of competition.
I fear were in for more Gase , another season or two at least. Does it ruin Darnold, is he physically or mentally broken by then?
