4. Dee Milliner's return can also spell the end for Matt Flynn.

I agree on 53 man roster. I think they like Heaps so I see him on the practice squad instead of one of the receivers.

I am also not 100% convinced we go with 4 QBs in the end. Petty may have stock his toe in the door for being the backup while Fitz starts.

Kerley may be traded, maybe even Amaro. Jets staff is either truly not big on them, or burying them on the depth chart to motivate them

Also, CB is so valuable that we could get more than a player is actually worth in a trade. Would not be shocked to see that either. Biggest surprise for me is Bohannon, seems really solid for a spot.

I'm not sure if we want to risk Petty being the backup in week one. I wouldn't have a problem with it, but I'm not sure if the Bowles and Mac are convinced he's ready to be thrown to the wolves in the event of an injury to Fitzpatrick.

Again, I wouldn't have a problem with it and you might be right. Its definitely something the team will consider.

Made one edit.

Due to the injuries to Mauldin and Pace, I now have us carrying a fifth OLB, Jason Babin.

The corresponding move was to remove Brent Qvale.

So far everyone I had making the 53 survived the first series of cuts, with three more to get to 75.

We'll see if I'm still batting a thousand when the last three get named.

If I could have one do-over, I would add Walter Powell, but I'm having a difficult time figuring out who to remove?

It would be easy if Geno was healthy, then we drop Flynn, carry three QB's and keep Powell.

At the start of camp that would have been unthinkable, we all know Petty has a lot to learn, but he's looked better than expected and Bowles DID NOT dismiss the possibility that Petty can be the No.2 when he was directly asked that question last night. It was the last question he was asked in his press conference, and I thought, thats a good question, but the answer was even more intriguing, Bowles didn't say NO, he basically said we need to look at the film, but yeah, its possible ... or something to that effect.

No, suspended players do not count against the 53. From over-the-cap.com (in 2013):

Reserve/Suspended- This listing is for players who have been suspended by the NFL. Players on the suspended list are not paid for their time suspended, do not count against the active 53, and their salaries are reduced to reflect the weeks they are suspended.

I have thought about this a bit as well. If Geno is only going to miss a couple of weeks, maybe we roll the dice with Petty. Although I think it is a longshot.

No, you get a roster exemption for players on suspension, they don't count on the 53 until they come off suspension.

It doesn't cost us a roster spot to keep him on the PUP, so its like an insurance policy for later in the season if another RB gets injured. He doesn't make a ton of money either, so there's no real downside to keeping him on the PUP.

I made one edit to account for Amaro being IR'd. I now have Enunwa listed with the TE's in Amaro's HBack role, and that opened a spot for WR/PR Walter Powell in the WR Group.
