Yeah

Peake, over the last two days, has looked tremendous. Jalin Marshall has looked great all camp. Amero has looked great the last few days. That's not to mention that Sudfeld made some nice catches in camp today.

Jets might have a very nice WR, TE corps this season.

We can only hope right?

I just made a few tweaks and added Reilly (you guys convinced me)

I removed Jarvis Harrison and moved him to the PS

I also replaced Folk with Martin (just a hunch, but thats a tough call)

If Devin Smith starts on the PUP, and missed the first 6 weeks, who gets his spot? Thompkins?

Probably, but I think that would be a mistake. I'm not a big fan of Thompkins. Too me he's a HTFG (Hold The Fort Guy), the kind of WR you carry until you can upgrade your WR depth, and we have done that now, so Thompkins is no longer needed. I would rather keep Robby Anderson, he's younger and he has considerably more upside in my view. But even if its not Anderson, I would consider Ross who also returns kicks and punts and you want that from your depth guys, its always a plus if they can contribute on specials. I would also keep Chandler Worthy ahead of Thompkins. IMO the only thing Thompkins has over those guys is a year in the system, but thats not a good enough reason for me to keep the lesser talent, and Thompkins is no kid, there is no upside, what you see is what you get.

Thompkins is an NFL player, he'll make some teams roster, but IMO it shouldn't be ours, we have too much talent at the position now, it should be another team in search of a HTFG.

Made a few tweaks following game one of the preseason.

Most notable addition is Shelby Harris (Deon Simon to the PS)

Also moved Devin Smith to the short term IR to start the season and tweaked the WR group.

And obviously Nick Folk looks safe now following Ross Martin's debacle.

Thats a good point. My thinking is that Robinson is a RB/FB hybrid, so he can fill both roles, SY/GL RB and FB, but I'm not sure of it. If I'm wrong, then they'll probably carry a legit FB, Bohanan or Howsare.

Because of the injuries , Bohanan was used as a RB today. Did alright to. lol

Thats why I believe we're either trading (or cutting) Geno, or keeping 4 QB's, and it all depends on Petty. If Bowles surmises he is ready to assume the backup role, Geno is out, otherwise we're carrying 4 QB's. No way this regime is giving up on a young QB they drafted, and traded up in the 4th RD to draft, after one year, and they know QB's are too valuable in this league to assume you can sneak him thru waivers for the PS. Its either Petty is ready to backup Fitz, or IMO we're carrying four. We're not gonna lose Petty over one more year of Geno. Thats not happening.

I think there is a middle ground. Petty may show enough that we should be keeping him, but he is not ready to be the #2. In that case, Mac is forced to keep all 4.

First cutdown date is August 30, you have to cutdown to 75

The next cutdown to 53 is Sept. 3

Practice squads can be named on Sept. 4, after cut players clear waivers.

i believe after last night, the general consensus is there is no chance (baring injury) smith makes the final 53..

but the regime does seem hell-bent on still trying to get a bag of rocks for smith but his on & off the field issues continue to speak for themselves.. if the fan base can see it for what it is, safe bet so can the other 31 GMs.. enough already..

hopefully last night marks the end of petty not getting most/all the 2nd team reps because at this point it's flat out counterproductive..
