I looked on a Panthers website yesterday and folk there were unhappy with the state of the O line and crying out for their #1 pick to be used there. One guy said the Jets are a franchise that keeps pressing the reset button and will never succeed .
Valid critique, but it's because of two things.
1. Our previous GMs have drafted horribly, as their history suggests, and
2. When the Jets begin a rebuild, the pressure immediately mounts from the NY tabloids and some fans about wanting to be instantly credible. Long-term builds are pushed aside midstream for the instant credibility of the shortcut in free agency, but that never builds a true winner.
