How did it all go bad so fast?

Now I guess I'll be answering my own question throughout my thread here so forgive me but from 10-6 last year to probably 3-13 this year. WTF happened here and how did it all wrong so damn fast? This team should have won 12 games last year. Pick any of the losses besides the Raiders and Eagles and they could have won atleast any 2 games out of the 4 other losses. So we go from potential playoff contenders and threats to laughing stock in one year? I can't remember once in the past 30+ years as a Jets fan something like this happening. Not saying it hasn't but I don't remember it.

So what happened and how did it all go wrong so fast? Easy schedule last year as opposed to this year? Stroke of luck with the half wit journeymen Fitzpatrick? Players more hungry for it last year? Bad coaching? Better team last year then this year? Teams figured us out in a matter of year? Wrong players not drafted, resigned, signed etc... this year? Somebody help me here? Did something happened I'm missing? This is worse then the Rex years obviously. The first two years were great, second two were ruff and last two were horrible. Now in one year we go from playoff contenders to laughing stocks? WTF happened and how do they fix this the correct way?

I can only hope the team goes 3-13. Maybe 4-12 with a victory over the Pats. But truth be told, I do not want this team winning meaningless games to wreck a good draft slot.

Well, honestly, I think you (and a lot of others) drank the Kool Aid.. The Jets played a VERY easy schedule last season and I think the hype got you to sell out. It's really not a bad thing, just very shocking when reality falls on you.

This team was not anywhere near as good as everyone made them out to be. On top of that, this season they have according to various sources the 2nd hardest schedule going into the season.

And third, everyone thought Todd Bowles was a great coach. I was never impressed by the guy even last season during the 5 game winning streak.

Fourth, I don't believe anyone thought Mac would put together such a bad team? That is most shocking to me.

Change is NEEDED right now and I don't think there is any other scenario that will work for this team..........

Those were all common mistakes on the part of the Jets fan base.

Your a little bit wrong on your analysis on me for this team this year my friend. I believed they could win 10 games this year but very worried they wouldn't.

1st-Fitzpatrick, need I say more? Him being resigned worried me BIG TIME!!! Go back and look at my post, I felt all along last years stats were a fluke and BM, Decker, Ivory and Powell carried him. Not for them, his stats would have been average to below average, and this would have won 5-6 games last year. Yes, this is a team game and it takes more than a QB to win games, but a real QB shows up in the biggest moments and carries a team when need be. IMO and it's not just the Fitz hater in me, Fitz never did that last year. Those four offensive players, especially BM bailed Fitz out of so many spots it's ridiculous. Bad and inaccurate passes, ints he knocked out of defenders hands because he couldn't catch them himself.

2nd-Our schedule was truly cupcake last year as opposed to this year. First, 7 games were murderers row this year. If we could have gotten outta that with a 3-4, 4-3 record, we had a shot I though but it didn't happen.

3rd-Our team got older this year from last year with a lot of overpaid good but not great players. Not game changers like Von Miller, J.J. Watt, Patrick Peterson, A.J. Green, E. Elliot and Dak. Which brings me to my 4th worry, see below.

4th-The damn draft. How did we allow Dak to slip through our hands? There were other 4th rounders, and further the Jets passed on also like Jordan Howard. Instead, we sign Forte, who hasn't played bad at all for us I will admit but they draft Hack instead of Dak, and Hack won't even see the field until next year, HOPEFULLY. We must have the worst scouting team and CS (when it comes to drafting players) in the NFL.

5th-TB, Mac, and Gailey I was behind from day one, up until now! So you got me there. I'm frustrated beyond belief with all three of them and initially ready to give up on them 1-2 weeks ago, but I'm not ready to give up on them just yet. I thought from last year; they would figure this thing out and keep us competitive this year at least but man was I wrong. I was never really happy with the off-season moves they made both years, especially in the draft but I trusted in them. Last year worked out; this year did not. So we'll see how it goes next year.

Overall, I had my hopes up for this year as a playoff team at least, not SB contender but I was very realistic that neither would be the case. I never thought it would be this bad and go this bad this fast!!!

I think you can thank Kacy Rodgers for that! The first step to fixing this season should have been to fire him 5 weeks ago! But Bowles screwed that decision up as well.

Fitz was never any good even last year when defenders dropped tons of INt's & he folded when it counts

Marshall was never any good...he also folded like a cheap tent

We got Revis back too late (I did not see this but I am not there)

Wilk may have been paid & is enjoying the country club life now (or he may have been injured)

Mangold is in the hospital more then playing.

Richardson is a loser

Think about it & this falls on big mac...He hired & paid losers...some have been losers all their lives.

Now I won't call Nick or Revis losers but those players are our leaders..... They are losers, hurt or greedy......throw them all out but Mo (one more year to see what it is with him.)
