What do we do ? This guy is a real stud !! DL is not a true need of ours .... Draft him? Trade back a few for extra picks?

Predictably, we will see comments towards BPA and "you can never have enough quality DT's" but the reality would be that one of your guys sits and that's the kind of move that gets a GM fired. Good luck explaining to Woody that you don't have any sacks or QB pressures because you wanted to get an "extra" star DT. This is sheer fantasy bordering Madden-like mentality.
This potential scenario could play out as follows: ......
1- Tampa Bay - Jameis Winston
2- Tennessee - Marcus Mariota
3- Jacksonville - Dante Fowler Jr.
4- Oakland - Amari Cooper
5- Washington - Brandon Scherff
6- NY Jets - Leonard Williams (?????)
If Kate Upton knocked on your door wearing a red teddy and holding a bottle of Dom Perignon, would you let her in?
Leonard Williams and Amari Cooper are the two safest picks in the draft, IMO.
It's not a need, but how can you argue with this monster. Our defensive line would be ridiculous.
Exactly. Listen, I understand that the d-line is stacked, and it doesn't appear to make much sense to take Williams. But if what Macc said recently is the truth, he's interested in BPA. And under this scenario, Williams would be considered the BPA. He's projected to be a sure top three pick. If he slipped to 6, value-wise, it would be a steal.
But I don't think we'll be forced to actually make this decision, because there's a very slim chance Williams drops to us.
How come Leonard's value is a fantasy but Beasley, Ray, Fowler, and Gregory's value is a fact?
I complimented you on some recent posts and analysis, even surrendered on Winston because you sighted some very pertinent facts the media is largely ignoring, but this post is not one of your best. This is nothing like trading for or drafting a QB when you already have an elite QB, because the last time I looked there is only one QB on the field, and unless you want to reinvent the wheel, there will never be more than one. So if you have Aaron Rodgers, barring injuries any other QB on your roster is completely nullified. There is no way in hell we are taking Leonard Williams. Yes, I would bet my house on it. We have arguably the best DL in the NFL. On the other hand, we have one of the oldest and slowest LB groups, our OL is average at best, and we probably have one of the 5 worst QB units in the NFL. But let's ignore all that and make sure we add some more depth on our DL that's already stacked with pro-bowl caliber players.
To me this is like the Packers trading their 1st round pick for Tom Brady. Ya, they just acquired one of the 10 best players in the league but got absolutely no better on the field.
