If we Win next week the question will be

This week should be a very interesting game. Minnesota is 9-2 but actually are ranked dead last in passing defense LOL. Their defense has a "bend but don't break" philosophy and if the Jets can get the ball into the playmakers hands, we may be able to exploit that pass defense.

Anyway, hoping for a great game and a Jets win!!
Yeah, I’m really looking forward to seeing this one. This will be a good measuring stick for where we are as a team against the playoff caliber type teams. I’m really hoping they don’t let me (US) down, and in that of course I’m mainly talking about Mike White. Play a consistent game managing type game like you did against the Bears and the Jets have an excellent chance of winning this game.

Zach has at least another season with the Jets. But if a QB like Mahomes is available, we can now afford to draft him instead of picking a safety.

Does Joe get a break on the Wilson draft pick because one of the very first moves he made with the Jets was signing Mike White?

Also keep in mind that a Head Coach and a General manager are judged differently. If the 2nd overall pick fails Douglas takes the hit. Saleh on the other hand is all about wins. Saleh will role with whoever gives a better chance of winning.
I do think Joe would get some grief about the #2 overall pick being a bust, but that would wash if he signed a franchise QB off another team's practice squad.

To me, what would be worse for the Jets is to have White play lights out, and then for the Jets to let him walk and become a franchise QB elsewhere because they're not convinced he is the real deal. That would be brutal.

if white had set the league on fire it probably meant we made the playoffs..

he would be on jet folk hero/legendary status at that point & i can't imagine the organization would not recognize as much..

so yeah, if white is the real goods he's the guy going foward..

elevating white from not dressing to backup just might have been foreshadowing of where saleh & douglas were on making a playoff run without wilson if need be..

Saw an interesting stat today about Minnesota. They have the worst pass defense in the NFL. I believe it was Costello writing that in the Post. That shocked me for a team with that record. Maybe it won’t be so bad with White going against them.
I think Minnesota is extremely beatable. Their pass D sucks and they will not be able to handle the Jets Pass Rush as the game goes on. Jets win by at least 10 points.

Better than Parcells era? I expected a ring then

Hey Parcells turned Testaverde into a dangerous quarterback after taking him off the scrap heap. Maybe this coaching staff will found Parcells pixie dust and sprinkle it over Mike White. Probably tried with Wilson but you know that old saying about a “turd being a turd”.
Zach “Opie” Wilson has a long road to hoe .

Someone may have posted this already but I just heard a stat that over the past two years, the games that Zach Wilson didn’t play in the Jets have the number one ranked passing offense. However; the games that he did play and they had the 30th or 32nd ranked passing offense. There are no words!!!

Here's the difference. Parcells came in and immediately brought in his people, his veterans, guys from the Giants and Pats.

This is being built from the ground up, through the draft. The Jets still have one of the youngest rosters in the NFL. Joe Douglas is some sort of wizard, I am pretty sure. And Saleh has more than stepped into what the fan base expected of him.

This has much more of a feel of sustained success, long-term success. The more chances you have at a Lombardi, the longer your window stays open, the greater the odds of winning it all.

Anything can derail a team built to win short-term. An untimely injury. A bad call in a crucial spot. Running into a hot QB in the playoffs. But if you are built for sustained success, you get several grasps at the golden ring.

Totally agree! As long as as they can get this QB thing figured out, this team will be in the hunt and possibly grasping a ring or a few of them for many years to come.

Hate to say it, but…

the line should be good from now on,

we need a qb for the next 20 years

the guy in Tampa will probably be looking for a new spot to camp for 20 years next season

20 straight SB wins if we sign him. Maybe more

unless he remarries and listens to the new wife
