My seats were four rows from the very top.

At first I was insulted,but then I remembered that I was first string when you saw me play.
So in the very early 70s 71-72
The chant was “Let’s Go Jets” repeated
Also” Defense “on the other side of the ball
So if you research the J.E.T.S chant
They say ;
It started with a couple off guys upped deck opposite end chanting back and forth.

The First few games at home vs the Colts . They had a group in the closed end upper deck to my right. I guy would stand up and make each letter as his group cahanted , C..O.L.T.S
This intern actually started in response to them our own the Jets chant
Before we started our own upper deck battles .

Seriously, I had never heard this before, Bigmoe. Always thought it started at Shea with the two guys on opposite sides of the field. Thanks very much for that awesome bit of Jet history.

You were not the guy that slid down the rail at the end of every game? I thought he was going to go over the edge a few times. LOl. This guy was right behind us sitting with ugly Pete, I called Ugly Pete a few years ago....He had just moved so I missed him. As he said he had a face that could stop a clock. Glad he was behind us.
