I'll be happy if his second year is on par with Darnold's 2nd year. Last year, he got sacked a lot but had sufficient time to throw...so I guess many of them were coverage sacks.

N-O. I expect much more than Darnolds second season. He needs to progress a lot more than that.

that's funny! i remember Strahan always being amused with Eli when he said stuff like "i am an elite QB". He also always seemed surprised when Eli came up big.
But when league wide renowned players showed disrespect to Eli, like Tiki Barber, who was the first in his corner? yup... it was Strahan.
so it seems like you might have a point, @innocenti. perhaps they have to trust in him, and we can only hope that he repays that trust.

Sam's second year was pretty good. in part, because Gase's high school offense was barely figured out as was the case in his 3rd year. in part, because Sam still showed some of the play maker moxie who wasn't shell shocked yet behind a swiss cheese Oline.
Zach has a bona fide Oline, a bona fide running game, they upgraded the TE security blankets, and they improved an Oline that played pretty well down the stretch when they added The Doctor; enter Tomlinson to upgrade The Doctor.
Also, this is year two for all returning players to the system. But most importantly, Zach's 2nd... and the thing that intrigues me the most is his recognition after seeing something the first time.

I think this doesn't get said enough. LaFleur is gonna be a HC one day and this kid is gonna is going to be a good one as well, but last year a learning curve for both of them.
