After Bilal Powell and newly signed veteran Matt Forte, Jets' fans have to be wondering who is the third back to complete this lineup... Finally the team's identity at running-back is carved out with two outstanding versatile runners/receivers, but it seems to be still incomplete...

Speculation there is a growing concern that the mental status of Khiry Robinson returning from his gruesome leg injury may not be a lock to make the active roster if he can not get back on the field to fully participate before the start of the regular season that the team might have to look elsewhere for an able body... Recently the Jets brought ex-Buffalo Bill Karlos Williams, doing their due diligence in fielding the market for potential addition to this current depth chart...

In house the Jets have some young inexperienced talent the likes of Antoine Smith, Dominique Williams, rookie free agents Romar Morris & Terry Williams and second year man Lache Seastrunk none to this point have made a splash to warrant the third spot which still seems up for grabs... Jets even had fullbacks Tommy Bohanon and hybrid backer Julian Howsare line up as running backs in preseason game 2... The mystery is growing more and more intense as the regular season approaches...

So what do you think, is there a number 3 and/or number 4 back on this roster cemented to make the final cut? Will the Jets carry a fullback this year or will they use that roster spot for an additional player elsewhere?

For the long term answer at RB, the Jets have got to sign Karlos Williams. You'd think Forte is up there in age. Powell is durable. Khiry is an unknown at this point.

Completely agree. Karlos Williams can be had for pretty cheap. Khiry just started practicing and is coming off an injury. Forte, who knows. But at his age and hamstring issues, they could be in trouble. You can get by with Forte/Powell/Khiry for the first 4 weeks. If anything, Williams takes Khiry's spot until he is ready to have a larger role

As the end of the 2015 camapign came to an end, this regime should realise that the squad needs more legit RB's.
Vs Buffallo, in a win and your in game, we had no Powell. Therefore that passing threat out of the back field was one dimension that was negated. Plus, Ivory wore down as well.

Just me thinking out loud, once the 1st wave of cuts go around, i feel Karlos Williams (among others) will be very interesting to see which one Mac brings in.
So far, Williams isn't being pursued by any team at the moment as he would just be holding a roster spot in vain for the first four weeks. IMHO, i feel its a risk worth taking as his price may be cheaper now than at the end of week 3 where many teams will be asking for his services and may drive up his $$ range.

Just a hunch,
If we keep 4 QB's, Williams wont be a Jet any time soon. Conversely, if the Jets keep 3 QB's, then Williams will be signed rather quickly by Mike.
