I like the trade. I haven't been able to watch Clady play much of late. But from what I have seen, I think he has been better than Brick most of the time. I think he'll fit into o-line well.

Hate it. . Paying a lot of money for a guy who's thirty, and has missed 30 of the last 48 games. And giving up a draft pick to boot

explains why we got him for cheap. I think it's a good move. A fifth is a low pick. That's what we traded Marshall for let's hope the result is the same.

He has been pretty good for much of his career. If healthy it's a good move.

It's the Brandon Marshall trade reprise. A 5th for a pro bowl caliber player and a 7th. I'm assuming they will restructure his contract. Won't prevent us from drafting a tackle in the 1st (or wherever) but now there is no dire need. Assuredly he passed a physical before trade was completed.

Nice deal considering the circumstances

With the exception that this guy hasn't seen the field much. If healthy , I have no issues. But at 30 yrs old, it's a valid concern

He hasn't seen the field much, other than the four Pro Bowls he's played in.

Marshall for a 5th. Fitz for a conditional 7th. And now Clady and a 7th for a 5th.

Maccagnan should be arrested for highway robbery. This is a grand slam bomb into the third deck for the Jets.

And they still have zippo cap space to sign a quarterback.

Not to split hairs with you, but Cladys 29. We just got three years younger at LT. Although he has had some injuries. That's a mild concern.

Just read on another board 1 year deal, 6M 3M guaranteed. 1 year option at 10M.

If true this is a good deal

A great trade. Anyone would be ecstatic if a 5th round pick turned out to be half as good as Clady. Now we don't have to reach for a tackle in the first round.

I like the trade! shores up our LT spot, and now we don't have to reach in the first round for one. now all we need is to lock up fitz and we'll be in really good shape.

With two completely different injuries -- lisfranc and ACL.

Of course he could go for the trifecta, but at least its not a lingering injury that he just can't shake.

And for $6M? I can't imagine a better (realistic) scenario . . .

How do you figure that? They just got 9 million in cap space with Brick's retirement. And some restructuring can still be made between now and the draft.

The initial reports of the deal said he would be getting about as much as Brick was scheduled to get. Now that I see the details later in this thread, it looks like some money will be freed up. But there's more work to do to get enough money to fill the QB hole.

Yeah I like this move. Clady is clearly the best OT out there. Macc rolled the dice. If Clady stays healthy, big win.

Clady was injured May 28th last year. He should be ready for everything.

Pray we don't have Chris Jenkins 2.0

IOW's we got him for a 6th RD Pick, but because we don't have a 6 in this draft, we swapped our 5 for their 7 instead, the equivalent of Clady for a 6, a terrific deal "IF" he stays healthy.

Meantime, maybe we can use a 7 on a Punter who can actually kick the ball 50+ Yards in the air.

Wouldn't it be nice to have one of those for a change?
