They did, but nobody claimed him so we had to take him back and put him on IR, reason being, you can't get rid of injured players without an injury settlement, which I'm sure they are working on. Ditto Trevor Reilly.I thought they cut Dee Milliner???

WTF happened to him that he got injured yet again?????? To my knowledge he was healthy during TC. He just got burned very often. WTF happened NOW???

Hammy in PS game three I think... KInda wish he could have panned out but was to Brittle....
The injury settlement angle is for sure possible. Not sure Milliner would want an injury settlement . Right now the Jets owe him his full salary. I don't think his injury is very severe, and worthy of IR. He could protest, and say I'm healthy. Pay me, and let me make more money some where else.. Or of course he might just want ot play and go along with the settlement so he can sign with another team.
One other reason it's advantageous to have Milliner on IR, rather then an out right cut is, if he is Ir'ed this year, he is a FA next year. When he signs with another team he will count as a lost FA toward the lost FA tally for draft compensation. If they out right cut him, it's like giving up a late round pick.
Either way, it's a real heads up play by the Jets FO. I'm going to give the nod to Jackie Davidson on this one.
If they out right cut him, he's gone, Jets are out 4M.......Milliner was the 9th pick in the draft. He'll get a job some where.
If Milliner agree's to an injury settlement. Jets save cap money.
If Milliner stays on IR, perhaps Jets pick up a late round draft pick...............Win-Win
I am of the belief that you can right from the start if a qb and CB will be good in this league. Dee looked lost from the start. Didn't think he would pan out.
Chasing down WR's can be stressful to the hamstrings!!
Not sure why he would since he is guaranteed his money.
collecting money & getting/staying injured is just about the only thing milliner has done here.."Not sure Milliner would want an injury settlement . Right now the Jets owe him his full salary"
Mentioned that. The only reason I can think of that he would is ego, and belief in himself. He could sit on IR and collect his money, or he could accept an injury settlement go out and sign with another team, "and prove everyone wrong" At least in his mind. Players do it all the time.
Me? I sit home and collect my money
