Glad to see Reilly was put on IR. I remember when he first signed he said if he could make it thru his rookie contract, as frugal as he is, he would be set for life.

I Believe the kid, he was driving a Uber cab in the off season. lol

I thought they cut Dee Milliner??? That's what I had seen on the internet yesterday? Anyway, for what unknown reason they are holding on to this chump really makes no sense. It's time to cut bait. He makes Chad Pennington look reliable...

I thought they cut Dee Milliner???
They did, but nobody claimed him so we had to take him back and put him on IR, reason being, you can't get rid of injured players without an injury settlement, which I'm sure they are working on. Ditto Trevor Reilly.

WTF happened to him that he got injured yet again?????? To my knowledge he was healthy during TC. He just got burned very often. WTF happened NOW???

Milliner was injured so they had to waive/injure him and if no one claims him we have to put him on IR... they will waive/injury settlement to get rid of him and save some guaranteed dollars...

I'm with MJ here. When did he suffer this injury? And what is the injury?

The injury settlement angle is for sure possible. Not sure Milliner would want an injury settlement . Right now the Jets owe him his full salary. I don't think his injury is very severe, and worthy of IR. He could protest, and say I'm healthy. Pay me, and let me make more money some where else.. Or of course he might just want ot play and go along with the settlement so he can sign with another team.

One other reason it's advantageous to have Milliner on IR, rather then an out right cut is, if he is Ir'ed this year, he is a FA next year. When he signs with another team he will count as a lost FA toward the lost FA tally for draft compensation. If they out right cut him, it's like giving up a late round pick.

Either way, it's a real heads up play by the Jets FO. I'm going to give the nod to Jackie Davidson on this one.

If they out right cut him, he's gone, Jets are out 4M.......Milliner was the 9th pick in the draft. He'll get a job some where.

If Milliner agree's to an injury settlement. Jets save cap money.

If Milliner stays on IR, perhaps Jets pick up a late round draft pick...............Win-Win

I am of the belief that you can right from the start if a qb and CB will be good in this league. Dee looked lost from the start. Didn't think he would pan out.

Not sure why he would since he is guaranteed his money.

I agree and laughed when many people said he has the tools because of a 4 game span vs some terrible teams. He never looked good to me.

I held out hope that he would live up to his potential. #9 overall pick from Alabama? He had to be Revis' eventual replacement.

Bust.

Mentioned that. The only reason I can think of that he would is ego, and belief in himself. He could sit on IR and collect his money, or he could accept an injury settlement go out and sign with another team, "and prove everyone wrong" At least in his mind. Players do it all the time.

Me? I sit home and collect my money

collecting money & getting/staying injured is just about the only thing milliner has done here..
