Owner Woody Johnson, Team President Neil Glat Express Gratitude to SUNY Cortland for Hosting Recent Camps

The Jets will hold this summer's training camp at its state-of-the-art Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, NJ.
The decision was made after careful consideration and with full recognition and appreciation of the team’s outstanding experience at SUNY Cortland.
“SUNY Cortland felt like home because of the tremendous local support we received during our time there,” said Jets Owner Woody Johnson. “President Erik Bitterbaum and the university staff, as well as the families and businesses of Central New York, all went above and beyond to embrace our organization and create a comfortable environment for our team and fans. They always will be a part of our Jets family.”
Preparing for the season at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center offers the added benefit of locating camp closer to the team’s core fan base in the New York/North Jersey metropolitan area.

“We are very grateful for the outstanding support of our fans in Cortland and to fans who made and enjoyed trips to the area,” said Jets President Neil Glat. “Our hope is that our training in Florham Park will allow additional fans to experience the fun and excitement of a Jets Training Camp this year.”
The Jets had held five of their past six training camps at SUNY Cortland in Central New York. The return to the year-round training facility is consistent with the trend of a number of teams remaining at home for camp. Currently, 21 of the 32 teams conduct camp at their practice facility.

This won't make the LI people happy, but I always thought it was stupid to travel to a second rate facility when they have a state of the art facility right at home

i think it was more about getting away and bonding.........practice at home and everyone will go home to families afterwards.

Rex tried doing something like the junction boys.

It made little sense, aside from Rex trying to "team build," for them to leave vacant a top facility to go to Cortland. This seems much more professional, more in tune with the modern football player.

Good news for Jet fans.

Much easier for 99.5 % of us to make the 1 hour or less trip from NYC, Nassau, Westchester to Florham Park than the 4+ hours to Cortland

good choice as evidenced by 2/3 of the NFL who now stay at home for TC

Another benefit with staying home is the fieldhouse. Cortland lacked an indoor field, so if the weather got bad(lightning) we'd lose practice time.

Really a no brainer decision - wonder if the Bills will try to do something there?

I am going to go this summer; a much easier commute from Maryland.

I doubt that as the Bills have been having camp here in Rochester at St. John Fisher College for quite some time now. Rochester is a hard core Bills city while Cortland is in the northern sphere of that large, rural, grey area of the state where people root for many different teams.

Great.

So now, instead of going to a remote site, working hard and bonding with their teammates, they can stay at home, sleep in their own beds, smoke dope and get fat.

We just went from 12-4 to 4-12.

Because going to Cortland worked out so well for us so far. I guess the majority of teams will be 4-12 this year since the majority train at home. I didn't know players had no access to drugs or greasy cheeseburgers away from Florham Park.

KRL from the JI Board gave the best reports out of Cortland. I know he has moved to JN... maybe you can induce him to share on this board as well.
