what's the most dire need...

for me it would come down to CB vs EDGE!

If they trade for LT Williams, sign RT Conklin and OG/C Glasgow, CB Bradberry, and EDGE Fowler, then you're really playing with house money. You can go any way you want in the draft. OL, CB, EDGE, WR.

It's not a cheap plan, but Glasgow will come cheaper than Thuney would, Bradberry will be cheaper than Jones. If they could make this happen with the money, it opens up everything.

Sounds good to me, but, my gut instinct tells me we would never get Williams or Conklin and Robby is real iffy also. I'd love to be wrong, and I hope I am, and see this happen but I can't quite make myself see it coming to fruition.

Williams is a great player who will be very expensive (salary + picks), 32 y/o and hasn't played in a year. I'd be very hesitant to do a deal.

• If they bring RA back at a cost effective team friendly deal of 2 year roughly $15 M with escalators to max contract to $18 M gives us one WR.
• 4th round selection Michael Pittman Jr. from USC could be second WR.
• RBs are a dime a dozen but the team could bring BP back but convert him into a FB because he is a jack of all trades type player.
• Trade for Trent Williams got ur LT for two to three years.
• Sign Jack Conklin got ur RT for 7 years at best.
• Re-sign Alex Lewis for 3 years.
• Sign Glasgow have second guard and backup center for 5 years.
• Bless Austin, Nate Hairston are both serviceable corners. Team interested in veteran Chris Harris, among two others.
• Re-sign Brian Poole. Which they are working out a new deal as we speak.
• Technically Edge we have two in house that started to come along last season in Basham & Willis. Team interested in two FAs among three prospects.
• Quinnen Williams not going to Jail. They can charge him because he did not have ammunition on him to charge him with a loaded or possible loaded weapon charge.
• CJ Mosley or Avery Williamson will be here, James Burgess will receive a RFA tender and re-signing Hewitt won't cost much and Cashman has potential. Not to mention they can sign veterans to affordable vet. min. offers to fill any void.

Let me make this a bit more clear:

If I was in JD's shoes I would attempt to sign Jack Conklin while also trying to sign Germain Ifedi... Conklin is a bit more refined but Ifedi is no slouch both UFAs this FA... Ifedi price is 2/3s of what it will take to sign Conklin... If Conklin is truly interested, Ifedi could convert inside to play guard...

Trent Williams situation, the Jets have pieces to offer if the Redskins are interested... Washington is in need of a CB, MLB, TE - Darryl Roberts entering final year of his current contract so if Redskins want him they can renegotiate him a new deal after releasing Josh Norman... One of our top dogs at MLB either Mosley or Williamson looks to be out either way so offer one of them... Chris Herndon has stock but injuries have plagued him his first two years in the league... Redskins going to look for draft capitol as well, 3rd round this year plus conditional pick next year (maxes out as 2nd round) should be enough to get Trent Williams in a trade then the team is ready to renegotiate him a new contract after also freeing up about $12 M moving those three players...

Backup plan to Trent Williams the Jets can seek out Jason Peters...

The Team still needs to draft someone but they can find someone in the middle rounds that feel have potential to develop...

Team has two Edge guys under contract that showcase some ability last season in Tarrell Basham and Jordan Willis both under contract... Jordan Jenkins is a FA this off season but is expected to be re-signed... Lets not forget our rookie free agent Kyle Phillips who shows immense athleticism... If the team wants to make a splash they could draft Chaisson with the 11th overall pick...

James Burgess (RFA) and Neville Hewitt (UFA) showed last year that you don't need an over priced player to play well at this position so Mosley or Williamson is likely gone and in this scenario we keep Mosley as the "MIKE" MLB along with either Burgess or Hewitt expect Cashman to be given a chance to compete as depth... I highly doubt the Jets will trade for Yannick Ngakoue but they do have a couple players that Jacksonville may be interested in Henry Anderson and Brian Winters... Unless it is a mutual interest then don't expect Clowney being a Jet even tho fans are clamoring for it...

If the Jets do indeed go after Glasgow he won't be the starting center but more likely replacement for Brian Winters at RG... Expect the Jets to use Winters as a trade chip to acquire draft capitol because his contract is friendly... The team likes how well Alex Lewis held up all year and he is still relativity young in NFL years should see them offer him a new contract... Harrison under final year has continuity with Sam which is most important, the team will likely look to the draft for his replacement...

Bless Austin exceeded expectations last season in his limited play... Nate Hairston also played above his shelf... Expect Maurice Canady to get new deal because he excelled in Gregg Williams scheme... The Jets will likely re-sign Brian Poole because he had his best season in his short career... Expect the Jets to target and sign one veteran at least in free agency and draft another in day 3 of the draft... Rumor is the Jets like Daryl Worley who is only 25... They are also interested in Kendall Fuller - 25 (KC) and Ronald Darby - 26 (Philly)...

Jets may also be in the market for a Free Agent safety if they do indeed trade Marcus Maye... Hearing Sean Davis (Pitt) is a likely target unless they try to convert Canady to safety... Who played well when he did step in that role last season...

Quinnen Williams won't be suspended, plus Steve Mclendon will be a part of next season along with Foley and Sheperd... The Jets will continue to utilize both Jordan Willis and Kyle Phillips along the defensive line...

Receivers are fluid via free agency from players like LaQuon Treadwell, Tajee Sharpe (Local Prospect), Rashard Higgins, Pharoh Cooper plus a boat load of talent in the draft... The Jets are enamored with these five prospects: Justin Jefferson, Van Jefferson, Michael Pittman Jr., Isaiah Wright, and Jauan Jennings...

The Jets also may target a QB on day 3 to be backup to Sam...

Jauan Jennings despite his lack of speed would be an excellent 3-5th WR. I'm a big Tenn Vol fan and watched JJ be the backbone of that team. Fights for every ball, and every yard. Great spirit and refuses to give up. He's the type of leader you need on every team. We can get him late.

GMF not saying your wrong - just the list is enormous and usually the longer the list the more potential for busts. As to kicker - good luck. Makes me sick all the damage Mac did to this team and Idzik before him. We have problems we shouldnt have to be dealing with right now.
