Last night's performance was eye opening to me. The contrast between Maye and Fields was day and night on how inaccurate, uncomfortable, and indecisive Fields is in comparison to Maye. I thought with that first drive he was set up for some easy play action completions, but they never materialized. Granted, there were some blatant drops (Mitchell and Ruckert), but he seems to be afraid of the intermediate to deep passing game. When he does throw those routes his touch and accuracy are horrible.

He needs to go with a team like Vikes, so he can sit and learn the right way to play QB. He clearly has the physical attributes but mechanics and mental focus are way behind the curve. To continue to play him may do irreparable harm.

Maybe I haven't been focusing enough, but I was a little surprised that Olu was our lowest ranked OLman. From an amateur's viewpoint It seems that a lot of the pressure comes right up the gut. Too bad AVT was lost for the season because he and Mambo would have been a real strength on the right side and would have kept Tipp at his stronger position.

I think the point everyone seems not to be making is that this  is Fields ceiling.
He played the same way when He was with the Bears.
He flashed but couldn't sustain it over a full Season.
Fields needs to sit.

Membou will be our lowest rated next year. Olu had help on ever snap last year and is on his own this year. Membou has a TE or RB helping him on every snap this year and he will be on his own next year.

It just improves the draft position to keep him on the field.

Olu has taken the longest to come up to speed. Part of that might be due to how difficult LT is in comparison to other OL positions. I don't worry about him, though I also see him as a steady force for years, whereas guys like Membou and Tippmann have higher ceilings.

After benching Justin Fields for the second time this season, it would be smart for the New York Jets to see what they have in their UDFA.
