I get worried when a guys stock increases when he's not playing and decreases when he's actually in the field.
He's a safety that gets beat deep. Simple. The only thing a safety isn't supposed to let happen seemed to be the only thing he was good at last year. This year, we've decidedto take this 1 trick pony and put him back in the box. Even if he's successful, that doesn't make him a good pick (1 trick pony safeties shouldn't go rd 1) but it will prove better value for his roster spot.
I haven't understood all the positive press on Pryor from Kiper, McShay, and other when last we saw him he was a special teams players benched for Jarrett...
Can he still become something? Absolutely. He could be Pollard. But one thing we know for sure, he isn't Berry, Thomas, Troy P, or Sean Taylor. I just don't see any coverage instincts in the kid...like when you watch Kyle Wikson play. Just no playing the ball instincts...but he isn't afraid the hit, so a box safety replacing Landry is what the kid will likely become...which had value too...just not 18 overall value.
