Just the fact they feel he needs one is not a good sign. Even with a clean MRI he is still probably out awhile.
I wanted to hear its no big deal, just a sprain, blah blah blah.
THEY TOOK AN X-RAY, its not a good sign that they are sending him for an MRI and they had nothing good to say.
Hope I'm wrong, we dodged a bullet with Mauldin and that sounded bad too, but this was NOT what I wanted to hear.
I was going to post this in the game thread, but this is WAY TOO IMPORTANT not to have its own thread.

I know we always want all hands on deck, but let's at least be thankful we have a (relatively) easy opponent week 1.
I'm not assuming victory by any means, but if you knew the first four games of the season were vs. Cleveland, @ Indy, vs. Philly and @ Miami, who would YOU choose to face at less than 100%?

This is why you don't freak out until you need to. Williams was walking off the field looking fine. That didn't look like a serious knee injury to me. He's gonna be fine.

The good news is he has two weeks to rest before the week one opener vs Cleveland
The better news is that nobody who might be a factor in that game will be in any danger of injury Thursday vs the Eagles since 40 or more of the final 53 won't be stepping on the field after warmups.
No further injuries is assured in what will be a final chance for a few guys to squeeze onto the roster or practice squad.
