Let’s start the college QB watch thread now!

Being that we all know now (well finally me) that Justin Fields is not the answer. We might as well start the QB watch thread for who will be or is a potential #1 overall pick. If not that, who are the other 2-3 QBs that will go in the top ten picks. This pains me to even go here but we might as well rip the band-aid off and get right to it! It is what it is at this point.

I’ll admit that I’m not that much of a college guy, so I don’t know who truly has the potential of being a number #1 or a top 3 pick. So I’m asking for you guys to help me on who to watch for. There are just to many damn college teams and a lot of good players. Who are the great ones, in this years draft, that can be the franchise QBs is my question?

Now the problem with this is the Jets never know how to do anything right, even lose right. We all know that they are in line for the #1 pick. We all also know that they will find away to win 2-3 games to ruin that and fall in the top 3-5. Even if it’s only one game that they win, that will mess them up with the #1 pick regardless. It’s just what they do, their fate!

I tell you who I have been watching quite a bit this year, that’s the true freshman QB Bruce Underwood for Michigan. Young man looks like he’s going to be the truth in a year or two. He’s obviously not eligible till year three. I’m a Syracuse University Orangemen fan, so obviously I have no QB to watch out for on that team. Syracuse football team always sucks! Lol

The question would then become whether Fields can improve into the guy we sit our draftee behind for a year, rather than pitching him in head first.

Sounds like your suggesting or questioning should the Jets keep Fields and play him next year ahead of the rookie? I guess that would be OK as long as Fields can actually help the team win somewhat and the rookie isn’t quite there yet.

Anything is possible, but the way he looked last Sunday. If that continues, I can’t see any number one draft pick or top 10 draft pick not being better than Fields and ready to start day one, to produce better than Fields can. That Steelers game performance seems like lights years away since last Sunday.

I say we tank every yea and each year draft the top QB until our entire team consists of only #1 pick QBs. Atleast that keeps them away from the rest of the league

This is a serious question and I’m asking who should we all be paying attention to as the top dog or top three QBs coming out this draft?

I'm watching (in delay) future Jets bust Fernando Mendoza for Indiana against Sparty. So far he looks good.

Funny thing I noticed was the two comms standing in front of a backdrop saying 'BIG SATURDAY' with one of them obscuring 'SA' and the other blocking 'AY'. Wonder if it will make the blooper reels.

All kidding aside, if Arch Manning enters the draft, I’m guessing they’ll go that way. Which I’m not to impressed with him at all so far. Either Arch, or the QB for the Miami Hurricanes Carson Beck.

Ty Simpson is a name I am hearing but I haven't done much research on this Kid.

Manning coming out this year would surprise me. He's raw and needs more experience imo. Next year will be the tell all on Arch.

Manning definitely needs to stay in college another year at least. Ty Simpson, I looked him up and IMO he’s a smaller sized QB. This is the first year he’s starting but he’s got some very impressive stats.

Whoever is the quarterback, they'll still need to keep him upright. No quarterback in the history of the sport has completed a pass from a prone position. The line is giving up too many sacks and can't provide running lanes(which would slow down the pass rush).

All you can do is hope the highly drafted lineman get better from all the mistakes they are making this year.

They gave up 5 sacks against Carolina. That's as many as the Panthers had in all their previous games.
