We need young studs on the OL. Carpenter LG is solid and D'Brick and Mangold are getting older. If you don't have an OL that can open up the holes for a RB, why waste a first on a RB. Besides our right side stunk. We also for the longest time needed a rushing OLB. Best player available. Please don't let it be a DL!
You might be in luck. OT is one of the deeper positions in the draft. Giacomini was awful last season. Was Ranked by PFF as one of the worst OT's in the league. Also saves $4,000,000 against the cap. He needs to go.
D'Bricks back up who we haven't seen in actual games because of D'Bricks 10,000+ straight snaps, from what we've seen in pre season is a JAG. Decent back up, don't see him replacing Brick any time in the near future. Winters actually played acceptable at RG last season. Perhaps there is hope for him.
Don't give up on some of the younger players currently on the roster just yet. The Jets seem to be fairly high on some of them. Qvale is a candidate for RT, or RG. The Jets gave him every opportunity in camp to win both the RT and RG spots. He would play real well, then have a blow up play. Jets protected him and kept him on the 53. Think he might have a genuine chance to take Breno's job.
Jets seem to have hope for Dozier. IMO this will be his make or break off season. Hope he makes it, got to love the nick name "Bull" Dozier.
Jarvis Harrison is another guy with legitimate upside at G. Guy is a monster. A lot of sites had him listed at a 2-3rd round talent. Rap on him was he didn't love football, and wanted to play basketball. Maybe the guy will realize that there aren't to many 6'4" 340 # NBA players. and get a fire lit in his butt. He has the talent, he needs to get to work. Maybe not.
With that said, I do believe that Macc will go BAP. I won't be unhappy if he is a OL. The downside is DL is also one of the deeper positions in the draft with a lot of potential 1st rounders. So there's that.
