In our 12th week of NFL football, Microsoft Cortana feasted on Thanksgiving week going 10-6 on the week overall. Cortana missed the Bears upset, and also picked the Falcons, Jaguars, and Giants, all losers on the slate of Sunday and Monday night games. In all, Cortana moves to 112-64 on the season (63%). Of the 135 experts and algorithms that are compared over at NFL Pick Watch, Cortana moves into ninth place. FiveThirtyEight's Elo model, which we've put up against Cortana most weeks to see how it's fared, moved into first place overall with an impressive tally of 118-58 (67%). As always, Elo doesn't always predict an outright winner, which helps its overall score, and frankly here at 247sports, we think thats weak.
This week, Cortana thinks that the Panthers will remain undefeated and the Packers will end the Lions three-game win streak. Cortana also predicts the Patriots, and Giants will bounce back after losses. In a possible wild card round preview between the Seahawks and the Vikings, Cortana gives the Vikings the slightest of edges at home.
Cortana predicts that the Patriots have an 84% chance of winning, the highest in all games, followed by the Bengals (67%) and Steelers (67%).
