The New York Jets just sparked speculation about a possible draft day trade that involves the Bears No. 11 selection if quarterback Jared Goff falls to the Chicago's pick come draft day... The speculation is from the private workout the Jets have set up to workout and interview closely with the California Bear... It also comes in an intriguing moment in time where the team seems to be at wits end with their veteran free agent who is seeking a ridiculous compensation from a successful failure of a season...
The Jets have already entertained Penn State's Christian Hackenberg and Memphis' Paxton Lynch and both did enough but it seems the Jets weren't blown away, that is one reason why they are looking at Goff... Now there has been speculation that the Jets could be inline to trade Muhammad Wilkerson to the Bears who not only have a need but have the cap dollars to offer Mo the contract he is seeking...
Now I doubt that the Jets are going to get the kitchen sink type trade for Mo, but what will it take to make this deal go down... Do the Jets trade Mo for the Bears No.11, or can they get one or two mid round/late picks or will the Jets have to trade the No.20 for the No.11 while getting a 2017 1st as compensation?
Info Fact: The Jets sent two scouts to the Cal campus last August to watch Goff in a preseason practice.
So to say they are interested is to say the least, being they monitored him all season long as potential franchise candidate... Also by trading Wilkerson they would free up $15.7 Million for the 2016 season and then could sign Fitzpatrick while also trade/release Geno Smith... There is so many implications if this happens
