Most Likely Jets Pick at #6?

It appears that the Titans are going to trade the 2nd pick now, so say bye bye to Winston, Mariota & Foles. Here are my options @ pick #6 .

1) Trade to the Browns for their 12th & 19th picks. With #12 Kevin White WR & #19 Trae Waynes CB & 37th best OL available.
2) I want White WR, but if we keep Harvin than I'm thinking Fowler or Ray @ OLB.

Lets see Cooper's 40 time first. he doesnt have elite size or speed, a little like Reggie Wayne. I wonder if the group of 6'3-6'6 Wrs (White, Parker, DGB) run in the 4.3 and he runs closer to 4.5 if that hurts his stock at all...

It's a real shame that Dorial Green-Beckham had to act like an idiot off the field. He's a physical freak, and could be as good as Dez Bryant. He might end up being the steal of the draft if he grows up.

Didn't realise that, dammit. Yeah Winston, Mariota and the trade for Foles will be out the window with the Tenn trade. Obviously that trade will be to Philadelphia or some other team that wants the QB that isn't drafted #1 . Like your alternate draft choices but forget the resigning of Harvin in this scenario.

Well, if the Jets "love" Mariota, and I'm not saying you're implying they do, I'm just saying if they do, they should be involved in trades talks up to #2 and see if something that makes sense can get done. Anyone who trades up are going to be dealing lots of picks. If Gaily, Bowles, and Mac feels he's a franchise QB, I'm sure they'd be involved in trade discussions.

They won't IMO and I know your not implying I'm saying that they will be trading to get him. I don't think the new regime is thinking mariota is the guy. Doesnt seem like it, rumor has it there are trade talks with phila for them to get the #6 spot and give us foles and multiple draft picks. I'm just saying if Tennessee trades out then I'm sure it will be to any team wanting mariota or winston. That will toss us out the QB draft race period and foles trade debate. Leaving what the other poster posted as a alternative draft day trade and draft choices to benefit the Jets.

For some reason i dont see us taking Mariota and Gregory being gone, so my next best pass rusher was Fowler...I didnt have a #6 grade on anyone else up there...

I picked Fowler for pretty much the same reason.Plus, i think Fowler could wreak havoc with this D-line.

I voted for White, but I think it can be any one of these five, and I'll post the odds (as I see it) based on value, need and the chances I think these players will slide to [URL=http://nyjetsfanatics.com/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=6]#6 [/URL] , thats my criteria, but of course its still early, the combines don't even get heated up until Friday, so this is subject to change, but as of this moment here's how I would post the odds:

1. Kevin White - 25%
2. Dante Fowler - 25%
3. Shane Ray - 20%
4. Marcus Mariota - 15%
5. Amari Cooper - 15%

IMO the top three are the most likely to be on the board for the Jets at a position of need, and I have Fowler ranked slightly ahead of Ray as edge rushers, and White ranked about even with Fowler overall. That explains the odds for 1-3, as for Mariota and Cooper, I think its less likely they slide to #6 , but possible enough to give each a 15% chance.

Reports coming out of the combine is you don't fit Mariota to your offense, you build your offense around what Mariota does well. Scares me a little. Sounds too much like Kaepernick and RG3.

That could be a problem. The good news is Gaily is know to built his O's around a QB's skill set

I agree, but if you watch his game tape he looks like Aaron Maybin with his long arms. Shane Ray looks bigger and real quick explosive 1st step. I think Kevin White could be the next Julio Jones. So Fowler reminds me of Maybin, and Ray reminds me of Sheldon, and White reminds me of Julio. I'd go with Julio !

Whether its warranted or not, I think that the combine will have a huge impact on who will be available at #6 . Before yesterday who was projecting KWhite at #4 much less #6 ? After the CBs and rest of defense work out, some other guy will make everyone think of the next Watt or Revis and everything will be turned upside down once again. Bottom line is that we will have our pick of a very good talent at that spot, be it Cooper, White, Mariota, Fowler, Gregory or maybe even Ray. All of those guys are appealing, but what may be more appealing to me is trading down for multiple picks.
