Well now we can trust the process. Next the mandate is to win ONE meaningful game in December. Then the next year its to win TWO. Now you got me excited for 2027.

Why would we reject more talented guys in favour of a pocket passer when most top QBs in the modern NFL are mobile? Even Brady runs when there is space in front of him. I would take Stroud in a heartbeat after his performance in the bigtime playoff game, and he runs if the defense offers a lane.
I no longer have any trust in the Jets developing any QB, no matter where he’s drafted. That’s why I said after this past Seahawks game that the Jets should stop drafting QBs high period. 5th-7th rounds at the highest. Even undrafted guys are even better. Do it every year until they find the right guy. At least this way they’re not investing that much into them and it won’t hurt as much or at all if it doesn’t work out.
When I got the package, both games had not been on local tv. After my wife paid $300 only 1 game has not been on local tv. So she paid $300 to watch 1 game. Maybe this week will be #2. Like the jets. A big #2

I have a mental image of the New York Jets QB room. It has a rocking chair labelled 'Joe' with a pair of slippers in front of it. In the corner is a golden kennel with a collar on a short leash and 'Zach' emblazoned over the door. A medicine chest on the wall carries the letters MW. Strev's locker has a coonskin hat and shotgun. Outside there is a broken picket fence with 'O Line' painted on it in faded letters and a signpost in the road points backwards 'Playoffs 12 years'.
One year wonders am done with. Want someone who understands what defenses are presenting them pre snap. Yes it can be taught but we have struck out over and over you may be okay with that but our scheme banks on a pocket passer that can move the pocket but will be discipline to play for the next down rather take unforeseeable chances putting our top rated defenses in short fields after bone headed mistakes every time the ball is in their hands.
Shoot me, but we seen when the QB is inside the pocket making proper reads even if it is check downs the offense gets into rhthym quicker. The OL needs to be more steady and healthier to have chemistry to control the line of scrimmage. With a dual QB like ZW even Darnold the OL built was not ready or capable to sustain blocks, that is on fit for scheme and inability of the QB to read the defense and quickly rid the ball to the proper target and push off script plays putting himself in danger and forcing the ball which lead into turnovers.
McKee has enough athleticism to move the pocket and run for 1st downs scrambling. He also has multiple years behind center at the college level playing against top rated defenses and defenders to be consider a candidate for any team and earn a starting role. We do not need to swing and miss again our defense is ready to compete we need to allow the skill players to be the main and get them the ball which in turn allows them to be the players they are. Do not need a hero ball mentality under center. The top 5 QBs have not proved anything and should stay in school to improve their overall game but that is me a former QB speaking.
The Raven's had a very strong team and won with Dilfer. Let's build a strong team first and then see what happens. We are 3 - 4 players away from a very strong team without a QB. We just need to dump or trade some overpriced players. (DE Lawson, OG Tomlinson, WR Davis and Maybe MLB Mosley).

LaFleur not going anywhere. Saleh needs steady QB play not a what if that he keeps having to bench because the locker room has no faith in. Need not want. A pocket QB nowadays has some mobility unlike yester years. Our team no matter the coaching scheme we're able to sustain a rushing attack with a good defense, no reason to be creative with the signal caller. Get a game manager that can make all throws. Accuracy over Strong Arm. Someone that can recognize what the defenses are showing to make the correct protection calls. Understand do I have time to scan the field going through my progressions. Or do I have to throw to the hot route or check down because the protection or set is unable to protect this play.
We did have a great pocket passer for 50 years....so don,,t complain. Bigmoe passed out money from his pocket for the Jets like gallons of water over Niagara falls.....but it was not slowly I turned, it was a gusher. Hey I was a pocket passer for 20 years on & off.
With hindsight Zach Wilson shouldn't have been taken with the #2 pick. Teams who are already stacked with talent can take a guy to sit for two or three years, but when there are as many holes as the Jets had and that draft pick is the only bit of excitement the fans have, you expect a guy at #2 who can make an immediate impact. Still time for the Jets to get a veteran QB who can win now behind an upgraded line, and let Zach develop if he is capable with the practice squad.
I don’t know how much better Justin Fields would have been last or this year but I’m assuming he would have been JUST A LITTLE BIT BETTER! Lol
Anyway, no need to get back into that. You are correct, the Jets shouldn’t have drafted him (Zach). Maybe they should have done as TCT suggested. Kept Darnold and traded down for a boat load of picks and hopefully hit on majority of those picks. As they did this year. We won’t get into that either!
Picking a QB that high on such a horrible team, it’s exactly what you stated. They truly don’t have that kind of time to let that guy sit on the bench for 2-3 years and learn. While the team still sucks ass! So maybe they felt rushed or maybe he did show that he was as good as any other QB they had at the time.
Either way, it’s all blown up to shit now!
Zach, Fields, Lance...... none were worthy of a top 10 pick.....let alone 2 or 3. This is what happens we youre trapped in taking a QB, which we were. I have always been a proponent of getting a VET QB. Rookie QB's are fine with a veteran team and veteran coaches .... not fine with a young team, young CS, first time play caller. We swung..... we missed. But so did Chicago and SF. So, long story short.... we still have a young team, young CS....... so its time to get a VET QB
