But seriously, Dan Jeremiah just made an interesting point. He said BIG CAT was the # 1 player on his board, and just based on talent alone, Gregory is # 5. He said if the Jets drafted Williams and Gregory, with what they already have on defense, and with Bowles calling the defense, its scary to think how dominant they could be.

I think we take McKinney LB Miss St...but I could see Gregory too good to pass up. High ceiling if he can add weight.

No I'm not, I have no way of knowing what else it is about this kid that concerns GM's, everything I'm hearing is a little vague, but I have to assume its pretty troubling for him to tumble out of the 1st RD entirely, that didn't happen to Ray or Peters, so who knows how much further he will fall. But Jeremiah was basing his observation on talent alone, and in that respect I see what he means. Just from a talent POV, to add Williams & Gregory to this defense, its pretty scary.

Are you kidding? Coples and Gregory would see TEs and RBs all season like never before. There are zero teams in the NFL that can match up 1:1 with Wilk, Sheldon, and Williams. No I e has olives like the old Dallas line that I can think of. That's why I would be so excited about the pick. As Gregory works to add weight and perform at new weights, he'd be developing vs TEs and RBs. I have no doubt he'd have success while developing.

I think he has been caught lying to teams. Of course he has burned bridges. I've heard he doesn't have a high football IQ but has a non stop motor. I said it before the draft, but I truly believe Bowles is one of those coaches like Lovie and Dungy where they are tremendous Life coaches and great mentors for these kids. I think we scored an A+ landing Bowles for that department.

What I meant, Super, and I should have been more clear, is that he won't have to beat a traditional double team of a tackle and TE or tackle and RB, the D-line will get too much attention, so at worst he'll have to beat the tackle or a TE/RB double, at best just the TE or RB, but this is the best situation he can walk into as an edge rusher.

Agreed. Pass rushers should be begging to come here. Some would feel they will have free passes to the QB all game.

Oh okay, I get it now, and indeed you are exactly right. If you are Gregory or Harold and you get picked by the Jets tonight, you should drop to your knees and THANK GOD.

So if it came down to those two, do we take Harold (knowing "anyone" could be successful with our DL), or do we shoot the moon and take Gregory (knowing "all out motor" is the only prerequisite to double digit sacks)?

Honestly OCCH, none of us can answer that question because we don't really know what the book is on Gregory. We know he failed multiple drug tests and lied to GM's at the combines, and thats pretty bad to begin with, but we don't know how he came off in interviews and what else concerns these GM's. My guess is, Harold comes off the board first, but its just a guess, we don't have all of the information.

Not interested in a deal with Seattle or Pitt because I don't want to move down too far, but I'll do a value chart deal with Atlanta and move down to 42, which should get us their 5th and 6th RD Picks, two rounds where we have no picks.

If we can move down five spots and get back into the 5th & 6th RD's, I'll do that in a heartbeat.
