If he is any good, yes. If other teams feel the same way Douglas does about him, he'd just be another body taking up a spot on the practice squad.
Besides, you have to cut bait with a guy before you can put him on the practice squad.
belichick has also won multiple super bowls.....

Both were let go for good reason................POOR PRODUCTION. The same is true for Polite. He never showed much when on the field and that's why he didn't make the 53. It was up to him to impress and he just didn't do that. I was hopeful that he would but I guess hoping wasn't enough.

I agree. I think Gase might have a personality that matches those crazy eyes. This scares me a little.. You don't give up on a 3rd round pick after 4 preseason games no matter how much you hate your former gm.
so do I but I don't see Belichick going away anytime soon. And if Kraft is still going to "massage parlors" on back to back days at his age, he either has a lot of Viagra in board of he has some years left in him too. Brady is replaceable anyway. Belichick has his replacement waiting already

Four players waived that I just don’t understand. Deontae Burnett, Polite and Kyron and Alex Brown. Ofcourse they must not have cut it in training camp for this to happen but they are all young. This is Burnett’s second year and he’s only 21 years old. The other three are rookies. Polite is supposed to be that overlooked superb pass rusher and as bad as our CB situation is, could they really afford to cut two rookies? What ever happened to giving the young players a chance to learn and develop?
Good point but at least then the Jets wouldn’t have totally given up on the rookie. Let him develop on the practice squad and hopefully nobody signs him. If they do, then you live with it but cutting him without giving him a chance to develop is just suspect to me. Stupid also!
didn't the kid tumble in the draft at least in part to character & low energy issues?? if so, maybe gase/douglas wanted to show their locker room that kinda horse shit doesn't fly around here anymore..

- one trick pony - in college he had good moments but an issue at draft time was whether all he could do was speed rush - with him in camp, they may have concluded that that was it - goodbye

Another Florida kid, seemed destined to be a high 1st rounder, flamed out at the combine. Didn’t have the athletic numbers he was supposed to.
He fell to the 2 Nd, just got cut. Teez Tabor.
Teams are not wasting roster spots on duds.
If someone told you that in 3 to 4 months you are about to go on the most important job interview you will have in your life, would you prepare for it??
would you show up heavier, out of shape??
