The Fitz critics are full of criticism regarding his sub par play. Much like Geno's sub par play. This team wins, and the dreaded game manager label emerges every time.
Why can't we accept that the Jets don't have a franchise QB right now? Newsflash: we don't. Instead, we roll with what we've got. A game manager, a stud RB in Ivory (acquired by Satan himself, John Idzik), and a top 5 defense.
We're 3-1. Be happy. There's no franchise QB in sight this year.
Fitz did not have the luxury of OTAs and minicamps, he was the BACKUP until IK fed GeNOT his lunch through a straw.
Ergo, Fitz is currently playing at an acclimatization level equivalent to other teams' preseason QBs IN THEIR FIRST YEAR with the team - not too many of which are actually doing that in the league.
Look at it this way.
If GeNOT was the starting QB, the Jets would be no better than 1-3 AT BEST, more likely he would have lost the CLE and MIA games.
GeNOT's career pass completion average is 59.7.
He has only exceeded his average on 6 occasions in each of his first 2 seasons as a starter.
In London Fitz had his first game below 60.3%, so far this season & had only 6 games below 60% since the middle of 2013 when he became TEN's starter.
End of story.
Fitz is going to be just fine for the Jets.
The defense MUST carry this team for a while longer yet.

Fitz threw a ball today to open the game that traveled 55 yards in the air, and was about a foot and a half short of being a perfect throw.
The interception on the Devine Smith play, was actually a very good up field throw.
Those two throws contributed mightily to Ivory's 166 rushing yards. For the first time in 2 years, I wasn't seeing 8-9 guys in the box
Marshall is starting off to one of his better seasons. He has played with some of the stronger arms in the NFL. And still if he continues at this pace it will be a career season for him.
Fitz kept 4 drives alive by running for 1st downs. Not because he has Mike Vick speed, but because he knew when to take it down and run. Big plays.

Yes, seriously, enough with the Fitz bashing. He is a very smart guy, and his football intelligence will outweigh a lot of his deficiencies. He is also not someone who can consistently lose games for us with dumb turnovers and inability to adjust to pressure. Some of the fans are acting like he will be our QB for next 30 years and are pissed off that he is not much better than what he's shown so far.
Let's focus on 2015: Fitz will continue to develop more chemistry and more comfort with the whole offense, and we should be looking at our version of a Trent Dilfer-type of QB.
With Sheldon Richardson coming back (hopefully) after the bye, if our defense continues to shut teams down, and if Ivory, Marshall and Decker are healthy, who knows where the year may take us.
Enjoy the wins first, and then look for where improvements can be made instead of going in with criticism first. Otherwise, what's the fun of rooting for a team, especially when they are WINNING?!

ST's are struggling. Punt coverage is horrible. Missed some big kicks. Punting erratic.
Right now it looks like an Achilles heel on , what looks like, a strong team.
