I've generally been supportive of Mac, at least suggesting that patience is required. This draft seems filled with a slew of draft picks that have major question marks - character concerns, effort concerns, injury concerns, whatever. And we really didn't address our biggest needs. Quinnen Williams was the right pick and again a very solid decision. The rest of the draft to me is questionable. There were a lot of good players on the board when we were up at positions of need, and instead we take a TE (why?), and a LB?, and a corner with major injury concerns. If Williams and Polite turn into good players, this draft will be fine, but you can't win in the NFL if you don't build depth out your offensive line, and if you don't find talent at the skill positions in the later rounds.

This draft was very very puzzling to me.

If you guys are this agitated today, I can't wait to see this site if we end up starting 2-5

Nope, but if Darnold is constantly dinged up because his O line can't protect him, or if Bell can't run because the O-line can't open any holes for him, then you will see what we've been talking about.
Mac bought us a Porsche, but it will never get out of first gear.

I have screamed the rallying cry for o line for years. If Bell doesn't get good blocking, I'm afraid he won't deal with it well and will become disruptive.

this team needs to start the season string of all he'll will brake lose. The schedule makers, as usual, did not help our cause

None of this means anything any way . We have to see how these guys adjust to having money and playing in the nfl. Totally different from playing in college and being broke. You never know who will be what until they actually play

That's sort of the feeling that made me, also one to cut Mac some slack, to post the rant about firing him that got Brick's ire. I think he didn't draft well period.

Well. it's all over. The last pick by Arizona has been made. Nothing left to do now except wait to see which and how many undrafted free agents the Jets will take. Maybe we'll get lucky there. We'll soon know.

Well then I disagree with PFF too and side with the overwhelming majority of analysts who essentially rated this a wasted pick. I only said I sided with PFF because you cleverly gave me the impression they were panning this scrub too.

BTW whose spot is Cashman competing for, Mosley's or Williamson's? :global (21):

I've seen Casheman listed as an OLB....with a better forty time than any OLB drafted or otherwise at 4.5 Who said they are planning on using him on the inside?

After that last pick of a guy who has blown out the same knee two years in a row, I was so demoralized I couldn't even post, just went to sleep.

It's as if Mac was informed last nite that he's getting fired, so he decided to leave us with a giant F.U. as a parting gift on day three of the draft.

Thats good to know, thanks DM, but the guy has had three shoulder surgeries, two on one shoulder and one on the other.

Hey, but at least that's one less surgery than the player we took with the next pick. :global (48):

This is why when you get fired in corporate America they get security to watch you clean out your desk, then escort you from the building.

Its not so much the fear of theft as it is the fear of sabotage on your way out the door, like planting a virus in the computer system.

They fear that you might do something vindictive, like Mac's day three of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Yup, this may be the diamond in the rough. He's like having another OL who can do more. Smile Tebow.

I haven't really bitched about the draft as much as most. I think Q was a great pick only because we also got possibly the best pass rusher in the draft in Polite. After those two I don't know much. I know we passed on some decent late round talent like usual. I think the defense got better from the draft. I don't know if the offense did.

I’m at a lost for words here. Let me first say that I didn’t get a chance to watch any of Day three but I checked my phone as much as possible and just aren’t any words. Mac obviously knows something that none of us does because he pretty much went way off the deep end here. Let me count the ways:

1. He doesn’t draft a WR when Hakeem Butler was staring him right in the DAMN face in the fourth round.

2. More importantly he doesn’t draft a center and there were one or two good ones there in the fourth.

3. He drafted another LB and we had like 20 of them prior to THAT draft pick. Plus the one he drafts is very suspect.

4. That LB he drafted past the fourth round should have been another oline men, center or not!

5. I believe he drafted a CB but there were better ones still available late in the draft and he probably drafted the wrong one.

Overall, Mac left a lot of talent on the board from the fourth round on and there aren’t many words to describe that or how I’m feeling right now. Not good Mac, not good at all!

We have no idea how these picks will turn out.

But that’s not going stop some fans from presuming to know how they will turn out, based largely on draft guides and some of the opinions of people who are wrong on half of these prospects.

I would have liked to have seen a Center drafted. There appeared to be a few guys there in those middle rounds So it’s not like I’m doing cartwheels over Macc’s draft. I loved the Q and Polite picks. After that, who the hell knows?

Yep on agreeing with you here, Wesco is primarily a blocker without much of a receiving resume, but he could possibly replace Leggett or Tomlinson. I think Edoga who can play left or right tackle is only average and Cashman and Austin are high risk because of their injury history. I think Austin, due to injury, only played 5 or 6 games over 2 seasons.
