Official Game Thread: Jets at Dolphins

The New York Jets have faltered in two straight and five of their last six. On Sunday, the Jets allowed 203 rushing yards in a 30-9 loss to the New Orleans Saints. For the season, New York ranks 29th in the league in defending the run (138.8 yards per game). The Jets have yielded 63 points over their last two games. - Good thing as of now no RBs on the active roster for Miami to run through us, all are Covid list, all are vaccinated but contracted the virus...

Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins resume operations after a bye week, and they do so with a five-game win streak in tow. Four of those five wins were earned at home, and Miami allowed just 38 combined points over those four victories. QB Tua Tagovailoa has also come on of late. The second-year signal caller has completed 80.0% of his passes while throwing for 249 yards per game over his last three.

Sorry guys, I am exhausted I usually post the new game thread seconds after the game finishes but was stressed out yesterday as you could imagine dealing with a numbskull on Merry Christmas vacation...

Not too much hope here after a clearly handicapped Saints' team led by an injured third string QB churned out a pretty straightforward win last Sunday. A loss here will mean being swept by our division AGAIN, since nobody thinks we will do anything at Buffalo. At this stage I am not too bothered as it will give us one of the ten or so blue-chippers from the draft, but we may be unable to avoid beating the Jags.

Didn't we have most of these guys the first time we lost to the Dolphins? Yes the return of MC1 means we might get a TD this week. Surely the Dolphins aren't going to play without an RB.

It would of really had been nice to see a full game of Walter carrying the brunt of the running attack . If only to see what we might actually have . Both Mike White and Austin Walter screwed there opportunity big time

I realize that, but with Coleman and Carter’s returning to the lineup possibly, Walter will have missed his chance in the spotlight.

not really if he remains on the roster they will use Carter and Walter as a one two combo, use Coleman sparingly and depending on receivers available Berrios moves in lineup and Coleman returns kicks...

Can’t see the Jets winning this one. This has turned out to be such a heart breaking season. Can’t say I was expecting playoffs but the Jets don’t even seem to want to even play with pride anymore.

I disagree . The team has been displayed tremendous pride in what they do . Problem is they don’t have a clue what they’re doing . New defense and a weird alignment that I would venture to guess none of these players have been a part of before.Throw in the fact that we have played so many different players due to injury and well.

Same thing can be said in regards to the offensive side of the ball

I would have liked to see a few receivers return. I don't think it really registers just how much a mediocre receiving core hurts a team. Remember the Cowboys in 2019? They started off bad but then they traded for Amari Cooper:

Cowboys total offense before Cooper: 320 YPG
Cowboys total offense after Cooper: 362 YPG
Passing offense before Cooper: 183 YPG

They made the playoffd that year (yes, it's a lousy division ) and even the running game showed a marked improvement after the signing.

The only part of this new regime that scares me is what happens when a decision has to be made about “Opie” Wilson . There’s going to come a time when a decision has to be made about our #2 over all prize QB and I pray they have the “Sand” to make it if it’s not what they want want too .

Ah, I see, there can be no football discussion unless it involves hating on some rookie QB playing for a 1st year coaching staff. And yes I am very concerned about his inability to throw an accurate 5 yard pass. But I thought this forum was a place to have rational discussions about a football team. I guess I was wrong. I'll just look for a forum that values intellect over emotion. Enjoy your hate fest.

zero blitz Dolphins has the look of total disaster or huge success for the QB who won't be allowed to stay in his own head too long by design. THIS will test his decision making and hopefully Carter out of the backfield will be a difference maker.

I don’t hate Wilson . Full disclosure I didn’t want him . I pray that he turns into everything we have dreamed about for so many years. As of right now I have no problem calling it the way it is .
I’m a Jet fan and would love nothing more than for Zach Wilson to become our HOF QB for the next 15 years.
