A lot of truth to that...
you'd never see a QB last as long as he did as a starter today with a 50.1 completion percentage, 173 TDs to 220 picks with only 2 seasons of that ratio being a positive. Fans wouldn't allow it, Coaches would be fired, etc.
to be fair to that stat line, he whipped Starr and Staubach in TDs, because he was probably playing from behind a lot. and he threw more picks for the same reason. he was the team, and as bad as they were in most cases, he did have a 60-61-4 record for us.

I think Joe Willie was the embodiment of the term "Any Given Sunday", because he could topple champions with horrid teams.
I think Joe Willie, by defacto, was the creator of the term "Game Manager", because his style could lose as many games as he won.
I hate when those Joe Willie stats are thrown out there

Once upon a time there was this fellow named Dave Kreig who was a bench warmer for the Seahawks. They starting QB couldn’t start and this no-name that few knew about started the game .
With the Jets it’s always something.
Well is Today the The Day that the DC gets FIRED? This group of Players are not as bad as this. In Wrong schemes against teams players not put in to use their best skills at what they do. Im tired of watching the Defense used wrong. Put the player in at what he is great at and dont expect the player to become something esle .....dumb ass.

Today Im watching to see if O Line can protect Zach. Becton was suppose to cover Zach back,blind side while middle starting at Center is not suppose to collapse only leaving Zach to worry about the right side of O Line he can see coming at him. To bad its not happening. Bectons replacement doing fine but middle and right ride is terrible. I notice Zach looked good 3 TDs in first half was amazing and expected. Then when collapse of middle caused Zachs to get a little paniced he didnt do well not knowing if he could trust O Line in middle. Very hard on rookie QB that has poor protection up middle along with off and on protection off edges. Its amazing Zach has been able to do as well last week. Jets O Line must protect Zach today! This means hold or tackle Defender that you the O Lineman cant handle and not allow Zach to lose confidence and trust in protection. Its the run by you to Zach leveling him or ripping his helmet off that has him worried and running around. Jets hasnt had this level at QB since mid 80s able to make every pass with zip accuracy. But if confidence gone on protection? Forget it.

Agreed, but this kid is not that bad . I would sit him for the rest of the half though .
