Got to agree soj. I don't know why they are bringing in other WR's. Both Owusu, and Powell looked like good football players. I surly didn't notice any WR's who are on the wire right now who are better.

As much as I liked Owusu, I understand where they might have serious concerns about his concussions.

Powell I'm baffeled about. When is the last time the Jets had a punt returner that might have positive yards? Leon Johnson?

Thought Powell showed some good separation skills, and acceleration mid route. Really looked like he could contribute as a WR

Not going to get upset yet, this roster isn't done..........................but still

Is there any position they are not loaded?
Sure, the Packers ILB group suxs so badly they have to move their premier pass rusher (CM3) from OLB to ILB.
Any QB tossing into the middle of the field is going to have a QB rate of over 100, guaranteed - and it's been that way for years.
HYATT™ would trade ILB groups with the Jets in a NY minute - and the LB coach too.

3-4 DL is a joke compared to the Jets group. The Packers haven't had a decent DL since Cullen Jenkins left and Johnny Jolly went to prison - and that in spite of having two of the most respected defensive minds in football, Capers and Trgovac, in charge of it

The defense's saving grace is an excellent group of CBs and decent Safety play as a group, without any star Safetys. The real stars are Joe Whitt Jr. & Darren Perry, who coach those 2 groups.

RB, FB, WR, QB - all good.
TE a lot like the Jets, crippling by on 2nd rate talent, but WITH with a top QB to compensate.
OL depth ain't that hot, even if the starting group is one of the best in the league.
4 of the 5 starters are currently injured, to some extent, so the backups have gotten a LOT of snaps in preseason.

ST, ST coaching, & the S&C program are all beyond abysmal however.
Packers have led the league every year in injuries, except two, since 2005.
In 2009 they brought in Dave "Redman" Redding to run S&C and aside from CBs, the Packers were a solid and relatively healthy team that season.
He got demoted in 2010 and quit after the year, with the return to the devastation Mark Lovat's program can be counted on to produce annually.
Last year the Packers were inordinately lucky on the injury front for the 1st time since '09.

Honestly, the way both teams are built, HYATT™ has no problems envisioning the Packers and the Jets being there at the end.
This is a talented Jets team this year and the Packers have the most talent that HYATT™ has seen in GB since the 1996 & 1997 Super Bowl campaigns.
It would make for one hella Super Bowl 50.

Leon Washington was a middle-of-the-pack punt returner for the Jets, averaging 9.5 yards per return with a long of 38 yards and no touchdowns.

He was, however, an excellent kick returner, averaging 25.5 yards per return with 4 touchdowns including a 98 yarder.

Brad Smith was pretty good also avg 31 per return in 09 with a td and 28.6 in 2010 and 2 tds..

Brad Smith gave me three of my favorite Jets memories of all time:

- The Thanksgiving Night "shoeless" KR TD against the Bengals in 2010.
- The opening KO TD return in a big WEEK 15 regular season game at Pittsburgh in 2010.
- The opening second half KO return against Indy Week 16 in 2009. This is the game the 14-0 Colts pulled Peyton Manning a laid down for us, essentially gifting us a playoff spot.

look at it this way.. if smith "had brains" he wouldn't have been on the board in the 2nd round..

LOLz in retrospect that would have been a good thing.. JMO..

Geno has brains had IK kicked him in the butt he could have got a concussion..:)

LOLz agreed..

i really hope how/why smith got wrecked by a teammate just trying to stay in the league is enough to end bowles & mac from thinking they have a diamond in the rough instead of a village idiot..

hope the guy never takes another meaningful snap for us.. ever..

I think Smith deserves one more chance for us to see what he's got but only if Fitz struggles.

From all accounts he's been much improved his offseason. I trust Mac and Bowles. The fact that they saw no need for another ab could mean that Geno is progressing well and that he's better than what's out there
