best part about this they reiterated same message in post season, season review press conference but @DefenseWinsChampionships is really Joe Douglas who is planning to rid all the players he personally doesn't like to stack the team with his personal favorites...
As long as they don't overpay this guy I don't have a problem with it. I like Berrios as a player but he did play above his head last Season.
or did he that is who the Patriots thought they drafted... but he was expendable to them with Edleman in house at the time... they tried to sneak him onto the practice squad but we claimed him and utilized him primarily as a returner, we never gave him that shot until last year with all the injuries then and because of Sam Darnold did Berrios step into the spot light this past season with all the injuries...
Actually you're wrong again. All signs point to them keeping Mims as least from what I've read. Your guess is as good as mine as to why. I don't think he's shown enough to warrant a full roster spot, but maybe a place on the squad.
I just don't want to tie up starting WR money on a glorified KR because you think his style of play is tough. Berrios is a tough guy but those guys who are the size of Berrios are always getting hurt and where did He wind up the Season? On IR. Plus he has torn the same knee up twice in 4 Seasons or so. Don't give big money to this guy. It will be a mistake.

Yeah but he does have an injury history and has torn the same Knee up in 4 Seasons. Big Red Flag there. I know Brax was a big contributor this Season, Hell he gave quite a few stand up and cheer moments. All I'm saying is look at the whole History and pay this guy like a KR and not a starting WR. He is replaceable if He wants big money and He will make no mistake about it. They can find a ton of hungry kids coming out of college who can do the same job and do it cheaper.

was never a kick returner before but did what he had to, and became a damn good one... injury history aside all that gets inputted into extension talks like I said I believe no less than 14 over 4 years and maximum of 22 over 4 years is what I would do... He is worth that money even if only as a returner... but we see him as a wing back and receiver both outside on the perimeter and in the slot... just saying his versatility brings options to the team... Head Coach loves his vigorous style of work, off the field and on the field...

Denzel Mims will have his chance to develop his craft this off season...

they would of cut him mid season if they thought otherwise his contract would be a blimp of dead loss, they could of traded him some dumb team would of taken him I mean we traded Daniel Brown for LDT, then Brown got cut and re-signed with us... So even Mims would get potential return even if it was a conditional pick...

I get you have your ideals, your thoughts but reality is what is important... if the team says he is going to be here then you have to believe them until he is not... you don't give your consensus of a player that dealt with everything he dealt with this year and say he is done...

Had the Flu (Normal Flu)... But again in Madden don't have to worry about getting sick...
Had Covid (19) and was out for three weeks... And again in Madden they don't have Covid injuries...
In what time during this past year did he have the time to really focus on his game? In what time did he have to focus on studying the game plan? In what time did he build chemistry with his quarterback? Tell me, I am waiting...

you know what is weird to me, a player never got his chance to get on the field (practice that is to really hone his craft) but was given opportunities to play but when he was open never thrown the ball, but when the QB had no other options tried to force the issue at him...
he lined up correctly got flagged but it was Berrios who didn't line up properly and Denzel counted correctly that there was not enough players on the line of scrimmage... how bout that phantom block in the back call when there was no defender within ten yards of him... how bout his awareness knowing he was pushed out the back of the endzone but knew he could not be the first to touch the ball but defended it from being a turnover... people don't take into account all those positive plays..
at the end of the day they want him to be able to line up in the slot, on the perimeter and be able to run all routes not just the go route... they want him to run slant routes and crossing routes... they want him to be able to run a stick route, and come back routes but he is lazy on his cuts not because he can not do it is because he never had to do it so it is new to him and consistency is a major thing at this level...
building continuity on the practice field translates to game day chemistry but if he is not practicing to where he is improving then how is he going to do it during games? they believe his functional strength is lacking because of the food poisoning last off season... the flu which took his normal every day strength away then having Covid but you know better than me and is so smart throwing stats in my face that you are the top poster of all those other forums you were on until reason you are no longer there for...
I wonder if Bawden can be that guy. He looks like a thumper, but I only saw 1 play all season where he caught a pass and had good YAC, but I never saw a handoff to him
FA is not about spending big bucks. Its about finding Gems. Its about looking for players who may have underachieved in different schemes or are looking to bust out. GM's would love to get Mims to see what his true potential really is. I just think he needs confidence. I don't want JD to spend big in FA. I want him to spend smartly. We can carry over to spend the year after when we make our run to the Superbowl.
